Second Visit Much Better Than First
This is a revised review based upon our return visit in Dec 2024...which was far improved over our previous visit in March, 2024. The front desk staff was very helpful and efficient this time and we were assigned the correct room for our reservation (Ocean Front Premium). It was a great stay. We were pleased to enjoy the Mexican restaurant Mole' this time for both a delightful evening meal as well as several excellent breakfasts. Wait staff were prompt and efficient and the delivery time for the meals was significantly shorter than our last visit. Also the quality of the dinners was far superior than in March; when we asked, we were told that they improved the menu. The Fish restaurant continued to be superior on both of our visits. Great food, great wait staff. Only the low quality of the white wine was a disappointment so we ordered dark beer which was fine. One other pleasant surprise was finding that our room not only had a beautiful ocean view (in Building One, Floor 3) but also had a Nespresso coffeemaker. I want to specifically thank the following people for making our visit feel very special (my wife's birthday week): Antonio Garcia and Gorgena (front desk), Joveta (Fish restaurant), and Marco, Abel, and Juan (Mole' Mexican restaurant).

Melia Puerto Vallarta one week trip
My stay at Melia was very pleasant. I stayed at 1030 with facing the ocean view with my 8 year old son. It was a ground floor room but the view was magnificent. I would recommend the room in that row 1025 to 1032. The food was good. The lunch buffet menu is what I preferred everyday because of the seafood. They are very generous with seafood.. I would recommend the Fish house and the shrimp tacos. The staff are so organized and attentive. They really took care of us. Special thanks to FRANSICO for taking really good care of us during the Breakfast and lunch buffet meals. Fransisco took really good care of us during the meals and very attentive and quick. The check in was very simple within 20 mins and we moved to our room. House keeping was done everyday and real good job There is free kayaking activity every day. The kidsdom was really nice for my son. He loved it with various activities everyday and the friendly staff. Special shout out to ERIKA and LUPITA for taking care of my son for the week and he really enjoyed each days at the kidsdom Now the reason why I gave it 4 star was only because of the room. The room is outdated and needs renovations and repairs. The floor is broken and the shower was very over powering. I would recommend replacements to be done. The location is ideal and if you want to take a short walk of 5 mins you can walk to the Marina Vallarta. They have a good farmers market on Thursday from 6pm to 10 pm If you plan to visit Malecon, hotel can call you a Taxi. Taxi fare from Melia to Malecon is 150 pesos. Fare from Malecon to Melia is 200 pesos.

Week at Melia
Week at Melia My wife and i stayed at the Melia for a week, The hotel was easy to navigate, not too big. It has a very large pool that is kept clean, with alot of shaded seating. The drink service by pool was great everyday, even when hotel was super busy. Hard working friendly staff throughout the resort. The beach was very nice , clear water, and easily swimmable. They could use more palapa’s at the beach y , Drink service at beach was also good. The Hotel buffet for breakfast , lunch and dinner was very good, mostly quality dishes to choose from. We tried the Fish House restaurant and it was very good, great service, good choices on menu. All we ordered tasted great. We were very happy with the room location we were given, Partial ocean view on higher floor ,the balcony had views of ocean and city, also cruise ships coming and going. Room# 1424. Building # 1 room # 424. The hotel was full during our week with familys Dec 12 - 19 th pool was very busy, some line ups for buffet that filed in fairly quick. The resort staff kept up even with all the familys at hotel and kept there level of service high. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here to all. Thanks to all the staff for making our week enjoyable.

Great location. Great pool/beach
For PV you can't get much better of a location in proximity to the airport and the marina. Food is good. Could use a little bit more variety as most dishes are of the carribean/mexican variety. Snack bar is decent, serving nachos, burgers, hot dogs and pizza. Lunch buffet we found to be better than supper. Fish house al a carte is 10/10. Mole & tacos I'd give a 7/10. Both light and dark beer on tap is Tecate, which we found to be good. The marina has a market on Thursday, I would definitely recommend going to see all the various vendors and food stands. Nightly entertainment- 3/10 Shows were very poorly rehearsed and at one point the performers were laughing at how ridiculous it all was. Music was too loud and lasers on stage aren't programmed properly so they constantly blind the audience. The resort should spend some money on an entertainment company. Also no bar anywhere near the entertainment was kind of annoying too, having to walk all the way up the stairs to the 1 bar that's open past 6pm that is the lobby bar. What was nice, is that most nights in the lobby there would be live music right by the bar with comfortable seating and a great view of the resort. Room was the standard mexican hotel room, thermostat cranked way down but still probably 22 in the room, it was comfortable though. Hot water was a little hit and miss during busy times. Beach is great, pool is great with great service. Special thanks to Israel by the pool for always keeping the beer supply steady. We tipped accordingly. Overall, we would come back

Melia stay in Dec 2024
We really enjoyed our stay. The resort is beautiful and the pool and beach area, amenities, staff, food, and entertainment are exceptional. To note, the climbing wall has been retired and we had a few issues with room key access, but otherwise an incredible resort and we would love to return. Extra shout out to Gonzalo (Nexus tours), Luis (who ran the kayaking service), and the bartenders and servers (and kitchen staff) for all of their assistance and expertise. Highly recommend!
