Walt Disney World® Resort knows how to make a vacation magical for kids. There’s nothing quite like the look on a child’s face when they meet their favorite character for the first time. Heck, we’ve seen that look on adults, too! And even though the experience is already amazing, Walt Disney World® Resort is never one to stop coming out with new fantastic experiences. MagicBands are no exception! Here are the 5 things you need to know about them:
1. No more paper clogging your pockets. As a guest at a Walt Disney World® Resort hotel, your MagicBand replaces everything from your room key to your park admission tickets to your FastPasses to your PhotoPasses. You can even put charging privileges on your MagicBand to charge everything back to your room so you don’t have to carry cash or a credit card. But don’t worry – you can limit the amount on your kids’ MagicBands so that they can get themselves a bottle of water or a snack, but won’t run rampant with your credit card.
2. It’s personalized. Each member of your family will get their own MagicBand with their name on it. Kids love them, and they make a nice souvenir that they’ll love showing off to their friends. You can also pick your favorite color: MagicBands come in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, pink and grey. Plus, you can find adorable charms called "MagicBandits" and "MagicSliders" at Walt Disney World® Resort to decorate your MagicBands. The kids go crazy for these things! You can pick your favorite characters to totally personalize your band.
3. FastPass+ makes FastPasses better than ever. You can now get your FastPass+ for your favorite attraction in advance! You don’t need to arrive at the attraction early in the morning to pick up your FastPass+, because it will be loaded on your MagicBand. So simple, so wonderful. You can also choose more attractions for your FastPass+ including shows, parade seating and character greetings, so everyone can do what they really want more easily. Currently, you can make your FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance if you are staying at a Walt Disney World® Resort hotel and 30 days in advance if you are not.
4. They arrive before you leave for your trip. This is a nice little touch. The kids will get even more excited for your trip when the MagicBands arrive! Just remember not to put them in checked luggage if you are using Disney’s Magical Express to get to your hotel, because you will use them to check in when you land in Orlando! (Important note: MagicBands only arrive before your trip if you live in the domestic US and customize them at least 10 days before your trip. Otherwise, you'll receive your MagicBands when they check in to your Walt Disney World® Resort hotel.)
5. They're perfect for everyone. MagicBands are waterproof, easily re-sizable to fit kids' wrists, and are made of a non-latex hypoallergenic material.
