On October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World® Resort opened its gates for the first time–and the rest is history! This October, the Resort is gearing up to celebrate its 50th anniversary with spectacular shows and EARidescent excitement 50 years in the making. Want to experience the magic? Spectacular shows
As part of the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Walt Disney World® Resort, two all-new epic nighttime spectacular shows are being introduced. “Disney Enchantment” will take place at Magic Kingdom® Park and will take Guests on an incredible journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment with iconic Disney music, stunning fireworks, and an immersive projection effect that will extend down Main Street, U.S.A.
EPCOT will also be premiering “Harmonious”, a new nighttime spectacular that is set to be one of the largest ever created for a Disney Park. Walt Disney World® Resort is also launching “Disney KiteTails” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom®. This daytime spectacular will feature performers flying windcatchers and kites–some up to 30 feet in length!
EARidescent excitement
Each park will feature all sorts of dazzling decorations to help celebrate The World’s Most Magical Celebration. The term “EARidescence” describes the shimmer and sparkle of the magical celebration—be sure to bring a camera and snap photos of all your favorites!
Famed icons across all four Theme Parks such as Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom® Park and the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom® will be transformed into Beacons of Magic, beckoning all to come and celebrate at Walt Disney World® Resort. Visitors will also get a chance to see Mickey Mouse and friends in exclusive new looks fit for the celebratory occasion.
