Winter Storm Kayla had her way with a big part of the country. But heck, even with freezing snow hitting the windows of Funjet HQ, our spirits are bright. Because when winter is here, there are vacation dreams to be had. A few of us grateful Funjetters just returned from Aruba. Take a trip down memory lane with us.

We vacationed in early January and enjoyed a toasty temperature of 80 degrees. No worries if you’re looking to avoid Aruba’s high season (December through April) either. Aruba maintains that toasty 80 degree temperature virtually year round. Their mild tropical climate means any kind of extreme weather is pretty unlikely.

Our vacation was all about exploring. And hiking is an adventure Aruba offers in spades. Check out Arikok National Park’s unrivaled landscape. It covers a little less than a fifth of the island. That’s a lot of ground to cover. So if hiking isn’t your jam, you could also explore via horseback or ATV.

And yes, Aruba’s beaches are great too. They all fall into the “best ever” category when you travel around the world. Eagle Beach even made Trip Advisor’s top 10. Staying true to our Lewis and Clark values we explored Daimri Beach. It’s on the east side of the island and comes complete with limestone coves and rock formations that tell a very unique story. Stick to the northwest side of the island if you’re a fan of the beautiful resorts and action-packed beaches like Northern Eagle and Divi beaches, or even travel south to Renaissance and Surfside beaches for another look at even more amazing scenery.

Island paradises exist. And this island paradise is well worth checking out. Traveling with friends, a spouse or children, it’s got something for everyone. But with Valentine’s Day just a few days away, it’s a perfect way to score points for forgetting Sweetest Day in October!
