There’s no doubt about it. Cancun has some of the most breathtaking and relaxing beaches in the world. But don’t let that fool you. There’s a whole other side of this pristine paradise that's full of rugged adventures and pure adrenaline. So if you’re ready to explore a heart-pounding excursion for yourself, we have a few suggestions.
Jungle Maya Expedition
Beginning on solid ground, you’ll start by exploring our favorite geographical feature called a cenote. If this doesn’t sound all that exciting to you, you’ve obviously never seen one. These natural wonders are created from collapsed Earth that expose groundwater, and are pretty much a must-see in Cancun.
If you want to get out and see the jungle, hop behind the driver's seat of a 4x4 Mercedes Benz truck. If you have a need for speed, then this is one way to scratch that itch. Or, take to the trees and zip-line among the jungle foliage. You'll finally know what it feels like to fly. In fact, after you experience this heart-pounding trip, you might never look at solid ground the same way again.
This expedition includes a water adventure as part of the fun. When you snorkel along the Yucatan Peninsula’s longest underground river system, you'll quickly see why this couldn't possibly be left off the itinerary.
Last, but not least, find your spiritual side before biting into a homemade Yucatan-style lunch with a traditional purifying ceremony led by a local shaman. It's an experience you'll never forget.

ATV and Zip line - Double Rider
From all-terrain exploration to zip lines to natural pools, this excursion allows you to explore some of Mexico's most impressive jungle scenery. Zoom through the jungle on an ATV, soar above the canopy on a zip line and even have time to swim and snorkel through two different cenotes and underground caves.

Coba Mayan Encounter
This excursion starts out either in Coba or at a secluded Mayan village, depending on the logistics of the day. Either way, you're going deep into the jungle!
The adrenaline-fueled part takes place at the village, where you'll rappel into an impressive cenote by descending 55 feet to swim in its mystical waters. Plus, you'll soar over the pristine jungle canopy on two breathtaking zip lines, swim in a hidden cave, set out on a gentle canoe trip on a freshwater lagoon, and walk through the jungle to learn about local flora and fauna.
You'll also have an incredible opportunity to interact with a Mayan community and participate in a ceremony led by a local shaman. You'll witness a sacred ritual that the ancient Mayans have passed down from generation to generation.
After this encounter, enjoy a hearty meal consisting of Mayan fare such as soup, chicken, vegetables, rice, beans and fluffy handmade corn tortillas.
Next up, you'll travel to Coba, a place that continues to reveal its ancient secrets to modern-day explorers. Located about 45 minutes from Tulum, Coba is a Mayan gem that's home to the Nohoch Mul Pyramid. If you're up to the challenge, climb to the top of the pyramid for an inspiring view of the jungle canopy.
