It can be tough trying to eat right every single day. Vacations are no exception, especially at all-inclusive resorts where there is food all around! But at most all-inclusive resorts, there’s fresh food and countless activities to keep you in adventure-mode! With the right balance of indulgence and fresh ingredients, you can stay healthy and most importantly, happy! Read on for my top tips for how to stay healthy while on vacation!
- Drink lots of water! It’s important to stay hydrated, especially in warmer climates. If you’re like me, you’ve probably been out in the sun or going on adventures in the beautiful surroundings, so water is key. Plus, a lot of people confuse hunger for thirst, so stay hydrated. I like to keep a water bottle with me at all times.
- Hit up the health bar. Many all-inclusive resorts have healthy options, and El Dorado Royale, by Karisma, is no exception. From fresh pressed juices to smoothies and sandwiches, the health bar ensures you get your fruits and veggies in - and that they taste super yummy. Check out the video to find out what I order at the El Dorado Royale health bar...with a secret ingredient you'll never guess!
- Allow yourself to indulge. Being healthy is all about balance, and I would never want to deny myself dessert, especially with all of the amazing gourmet food at Karisma. So definitely allow yourself to sample all of the cuisine- just don’t go overboard. I can never say no to cheesecake, and the raspberry cheesecake at El Dorado Royale, by Karisma, is divine! It’s not an all-inclusive vacation if there’s no dessert involved, right?
- Walk to locations when you can. Part of the beauty of all-inclusive resorts is in the amazing lush environments and sprawling grounds. You’ll truly immerse yourself in the scenery by walking in it. There are definitely some locations better for cars (like the airport) but take advantage of the guided tours, like in the Aktun-chen caves, when you can. Don’t forget your walking shoes!
Stay hydrated and active. Listen to your body! When you need to rest, take a break (preferably in a beach palapa). Make sure you’re taking care of yourself, so you don’t miss out on anything when you’re on vacation in paradise. It's the best way to get the most out of your vacation, so you'll come home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.
