When you book with Funjet, you can also book your flight, hotel transfers and excursions all at once. So when you’re ready to leave, everything’s paid for. With hidden fees for checked bags and even carry-ons getting to be the norm (but not on Funjet value flights), you’d be forgiven for being a little hesitant to believe the “all-inclusive” label. In general, your all-inclusive vacation package price includes accommodations, meals and beverage, and all taxes, gratuities and fees. But what does that mean, specifically?
Dining
What’s included: The food is often the highlight of an all-inclusive vacation, with some resorts offering up a dozen or more restaurant options. Plus margaritas at the pool, beer in the mini-fridge, a burger from 24-hour room service—all included. Resorts tend to have both casual buffet and more formal a la carte restaurants for guests to choose from.
What’s not: Although they don’t cost extra, a la carte restaurants sometimes require reservations in advance. Drinks (both alcoholic and non-) are included, but some resorts charge extra for top-shelf liquor or premium wine.
Activities
What’s included: Tons of stuff. Mojito making, bike tours, yoga classes and Merengue lessons are just a few of the activities offered by the resorts we’ve visited. Non-motorized watersports equipment is usually provided for free—no need to bring your own snorkeling equipment. And you’ll find a variety of free entertainment every night. Resorts like Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort and Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya often host big-name entertainers, with guests receiving complimentary tickets.
What’s not: Excursions and more involved activities like dolphin encounters will usually cost extra. But they’re still often a better deal than if you were booking these activities separately from your accommodations. For example, resorts associated with golf courses often include greens fees in your package, meaning you’re only responsible for cart and equipment rentals. Many places offer free introductory scuba diving lessons, but further lessons or diving excursions will cost extra.
Spa Services
Spa and salon treatments are usually are not included in your package price. But with everything else included, they’re worth the indulgence!
More
All of these thing vary by resort. Some all-inclusive don’t charge extra top-shelf liquor; others offer free excursions or complimentary access to their spas’ hydrotherapy facilities. Some include these extras as part of upgraded room categories. And many times, your package comes with resort credit good for things like massages, upgraded wine lists or extras like private candlelit dinners on the beach. So you can still indulge while leaving your wallet in your room.
Most of all, all-inclusive resorts strive to offer a higher level of service, offering everything from butlers to kids’ clubs make them great destinations for families.
