The Weddings by Funjet team is comprised of Accommodations Specialists and Concierges, one will specialize in the event and wedding planning, and the other will be the go-to for all things travel related. We spoke with both of the experts to find out all the details to consider when making a reservation for a destination wedding whether you are the couple reserving the rooms or the guests attending! Here are the top 5 things to consider when deciding on the best time to make your reservation, which travel dates to consider, and other benefits you receive as a Weddings by Funjet traveler.
Book early.
We understand the need for couples to book a wedding in 6 months or less or decide to plan a ceremony or vow renewal last minute, and we are certainly able to accommodate the best we can. The greatest thing we would like to stress is hotel inventory, it can go fast! Deciding to make a reservation within 6 months of travel can be a gamble because the room category or flight you were hoping for could be sold out. If you are looking to save money and travel on a budget and your heart is set on a lead-in room category, keep in mind they are typically the first to go. Be safe and book early, secure your room and flight, and make payments until 60 days prior to travel (the final payment due date).
Consider the day of the wedding.
As a guest, you are dedicating time, money, and vacation time to be there for the couple's special day. It's important to consider the day of the wedding, and fly in at least two days prior in the case of flight delays or cancellations. Will there be any scheduled group activities to schedule your travel itinerary around like an excursion, welcome party, or farewell brunch? Make the most out of your trip by knowing what the couple's have in mind all wedding week long.
Extend your trip.
Perhaps you haven't been on vacation in a while, and you don't want to dedicate your entire time away from home to the main event and extra group activities. Extend your trip, and make it your own vacation! If your desired travel dates are outside of the designated block the couple may have set up for your group, you are already assigned a personal Accommodations Specialist that can make it easy for you to request additional dates at a lower rate. Make time for a few days to relax and enjoy the hotel, solo or with your family.
