Weddings by Funjet Concierge Ashley recently worked with newlyweds Linsie and Justin, planning their destination wedding at IBEROSTAR Rose Hall Beach in beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica. A fun, thoughtful, and kind-hearted couple from Texas, Linsie and Justin decided on a destination wedding because of their mutual love for travel.
“We love to travel and intend to do a lot of travel in the future. We thought this was a great opportunity to get married and travel to a beautiful location at the same time.”
The planning process was a breeze working together to piece each and every part of Linsie and Justin’s wedding vision. After months of detailed communication, planning, and patience, Linsie and Justin’s love shined the brightest on their wedding day and their story was captured perfectly. Follow their beautiful wedding journey yourself, captured by Shelby Nickel Photography.
The Wedding Rehearsal
Linsie and Justin gathered with friends, family, and their bridal party the night before their wedding to welcome and thank everyone for traveling to their wedding. Festivities kicked off with a ceremony rehearsal on the beach, followed by a delicious dinner at the resort’s Cajun restaurant, Jambalaya.
The Wedding Day
Filled with butterflies and excitement, the morning of the wedding is always a very special time for all couples. When asked what they were looking forward to the most on their wedding day, Linsie and Justin said they were excited to be celebrating the most important day of their life with all of their closest family and friends.
Linsie spent the morning with her favorite ladies getting ready in the Spa sharing their excitement over champagne and of course, girl talk.
Matching floral robes made for the perfect gift to her bridesmaids along with monogrammed beach towels.
Before getting dressed and adding accessories, Linsie made sure to make time to exchange gifts with Justin. Making it a day to never forget, Linsie and Justin wrote each other romantic love letters. Linsie expressed her thoughts and feelings from the first day in Montego Bay leading up to the morning of the wedding.
While planning the details of the wedding, Linsie expressed the importance of the perfect dress. Of course, every girl dreams of feeling and looking her best on her wedding day. Linsie did exactly that! After careful consideration, Linsie found “the one” and we couldn’t be swooning more over this gorgeous three piece dress.
Nothing builds the anticipation more than a secret first look before the walk down the aisle. Holding hands and exchanging words, but not being able to see each other brought memories that will last a lifetime.
Set on the beach, the ceremony was unforgettable. Guests arrived to the tunes of legendary Bob Marley and waited patiently for the blushing bride to make her way down the aisle. Linsie and Justin exchanged their personal vows to each other in front of the ones they love the most. Overcast skies didn’t stop the moment from being anything less than perfect. We’ll let the photos do the talking here.
Pre-Ceremony Music: Instrumental Variety of Bob Marley
Wedding Party Processional: One Love, Bob Marley
Bride’s Processional: We Bought a Zoo, Jonsi
Bride & Groom Recessional: Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours, Stevie Wonder
The Wedding Reception
Following the ceremony and cocktail hour, guests gathered at the resort’s steakhouse for dinner and the reception. The new Mr. & Mrs. sat together at a romantic sweetheart table with their guests surrounding them. Following a delicious plated dinner, Linsie and Justin cut their cake, a specialty ombre design with vanilla flavoring and buttercream. After indulging in cake, Linsie and Justin shared their first dance as husband and wife. The party carried on into the night thanks to the DJ and incredibly fun bartenders.
The Love Story
Linsie and Justin met through mutual friends at a local bar in college called the Blind Pig Pub. They were both still in school, but just a half hour from one another. After a few years of dating, Justin decided to pop the question to Linsie with the help of her mom. Justin showed up to surprise Linsie while she was out to dinner with her mom. They took a walk together near a Koi Pond when he popped the question. Justin was thoughtful enough to hire a photographer to capture the special moment. While their love is special in many ways, Linsie and Justin shared their favorite thing about the other.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about your fiancé (now spouse!)?
A: Justin: My favorite thing about Linsie is her ability to love me so well. She has a really great heart and always makes me feel important.
Linsie: My favorite thing about Justin is that he is extremely selfless. He is always going out of his way to help me with everything. He is also the most optimistic human on the planet.
Happily Ever After
Now happily married, Linsie and Justin have a wedding week to look back on that they will never forget. They stay busy with work, and in their free time they enjoy outdoor activities like kayaking together, and catching the latest film to hit the big screen. While we wish Linsie and Justin the best Happily Ever After there ever was, keep reading for more on their thoughts about planning the perfect destination wedding.
