To best assist you in getting started, we broke the steps down to a comprehensive guide to create your own customized geofilter for your Hawaii wedding. Snapchat geofilters are not yet available in Mexico or the Caribbean, but we are sure availability is just around the corner. Stay tuned!
How Do I Get This Party Started?
You can create your geofilter by downloading the Snapchat App on your smart phone or visiting their website.

Add Your Own Flair
Snapchat created many different filters, varying by design and colors. There's something for everyone! However, if you don't see one you love, create and upload your own. After selecting your filter; customize by adding your wedding colors, information and even the style of font. Be sure to check out Snapchat's guidelines before starting your creation. Brand names, social media handles, and photos of people are some of the things not allowed in a filter.
Save the Date
Determine the dates you'd like your geofilter to be available. Having a rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding? Consider making your geofilter available for a couple days surrounding your wedding. Select the hours you want your geofilter to be available, it can be as little as one hour to 180 days. If you like to plan in advance, you can create your geofilter up to six months ahead of time.
Where's the Party?
Pick your parameters. Your geofilter will only be available within the area you've selected. Make sure to consider the different places you may be during your big day and include them in your fence. Easily create your fence by dropping points to create your area. You must be between 20,000 and 5,000,000 square feet.
How Much Will It Cost?
Will this break the bank? Weddings can be expensive, but this customizable touch doesn't have to be. Check out the left-hand corner of the application to see total amount of square footage and cost. Cost will vary by location and duration of availability. In Hawaii, it's generally about $1 per every 1,000-2,000 square feet.
Confirm the Details
Almost done! Confirm your geofilter, and verify everything looks correct before you purchase. Enter your email address, geofilter details and payment information.
