Our latest couple to get married at Excellence Riviera Cancun, Vanessa and David were married on September 22 surrounded by their closest family and friends. After a recent move from the Midwest to Texas, the couple was beyond thrilled to have their favorite people all in one place to celebrate. The future Mr. and Mrs. greeted guests the day before the wedding by hosting a welcome cocktail party at the X-Lounge; an open-air beachfront bar that has lounge furniture, palm trees, and an unforgettable view of the ocean. Celebratory cheers and many laughs were had while everyone was able to unwind and enjoy each other’s company before the big day itself.
Meet Vanessa + David.
The morning of the wedding, Vanessa spent her last moments as a miss with her closest ladies for a day at the spa. Millé Spa at Excellence Riviera Cancun offers the perfect packages for brides-to-be, and Vanessa treated her gals to the “Magic Celebration” which included an aqua wellness treatment and massage followed by champagne and treats. After this the excitement of the bridal party's hair and make up was completed in the spa, just in time for a first look between the couple. Wanting to share their first moments before the ceremony with just each other, Vanessa and David chose to have a “first look." The breathtaking photography by Seasons Photo Studio, Excellence's in house photography company, captured the love they have for each other.
The wedding ceremony took place on the resort’s pier at 5:00pm, surrounded by the sea with the first glimpse of the sunset. Part of Vanessa's wedding vision was to not take away from the breathtaking views of the ocean and the tropical atmosphere of the pier's Palapa. The couple surprised their guests with coral fans on the ceremony chairs to relieve themselves from Mexico's afternoon warmth. Vanessa was escorted down the aisle and given away by both her brother and Father. After the intimate Symbolic ceremony, Vanessa walked down the aisle hand in hand with the man of her dreams!
Followed by the ceremony, the new Mr. and Mrs. Johnson took pictures while their family and friends enjoyed cocktail hour on the beach with an open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. Guests had a blast taking pictures with the amazing LOVE marquee sign rented from Alquimia Events. The sign made for a fun and innovative photo prop up against the deep blue colors of sea and sky.
The dinner reception took place at one of our all time favorite wedding locations in Cancun, an intimate oceanfront Palapa bar, Las Olas. The couple and their wedding guests enjoyed a savory three course meal carefully crafted by Vanessa and David. Guests began their meal with a Caribbean inspired salad and a cup of seafood bisque, followed by a grilled fillet of beef tenderloin glazed with roasted pumpkin seed sauce, paired with a side of scallops glazed in Serrano cilantro butter (yum!). To top off the full-flavored dinner, a tiered wedding cake with multiple flavors of tres leches, vanilla, and a raspberry fruit filling was served! The night carried on with toasts to love, lots of laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories. Vanessa happily reported back to us that "Everything was amazing!" and we wouldn't want it any other way for the happy couple.
