Entry to the rooftop bar
The staff on the door pick and choose who to let in depending on their mood - and are most unpleasant which is quite surprising for somewhere that isn’t really exclusive. My husband and I went up to the bar in the daytime and our Son attempted to come in to join us for a drink to enjoy the view with us. He was told he wasn’t wearing the right clothing - even though in the bar itself most people were in shorts or jeans and trainers - he was wearing smart shorts and smart trainers. Even though my husband went to the door to explain he was with us, they turned him away and expected him to stand in the street. Sadly not representative of other hotels in this chain . I do not recommend this rooftop bar due to rude hotel staff on the door.

Great Stay at the AC In Malaga
We enjoyed our stay at the AC hotel in Malaga. The hotel is in the heart of downtown, walking distance to the waterfront, and offers stunning views of the harbor from our room and balcony. We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise each morning. We were upgraded to a corner suite, which gave us a bedroom and separate sitting area and a nice size bathroom. In room amenities included a nice coffee maker, tea pot, good coffee, safe and mini fridge. The bed was comfortable, my only complaint was the hot room, and having a quilt too thick to sleep under. You can open the windows but didn’t want to leave them open all night due to street noise. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. Even as a Bonvoy member, you need to pay $10 per person. We also went to the rooftop bar for sunset, which gives priority seating to guests. The atmosphere was lively with a DJ and the drinks were very good. The staff were friendly, very helpful and spoke English. I would recommend staying at the AC Hotel.

Great location and friendly staff.
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights over NYE. We stayed in a Standard Sea View King room on the 8th floor with a balcony, which had a beautiful view of the port. Room was spacious and included a good amount of amenities, including a hot water kettle for tea that was separate from the coffee machine. Bed was comfortable and housekeeping did a nice job cleaning and replenishing amenities each day. Although we did not have room service, we did request dinnerware to be brought to the room and that was done very quickly. Front desk, concierge and doormen were all cordial. Taxis are easy to grab from the street right outside the front door. As they have a rooftop bar for outside guests, as well as were hosing a NYE event, they did ask each time we entered if we were staying at the hotel, but it wasn’t any issue and they were friendly once we said we were guests of the hotel. The reason for the 4 star is due to the temperature of our room (#813). The room was extremely hot and while we understood they did not run AC during the winter months, the temperature in the hallway (which was comfortable) vs our room (which felt more like a sauna) was a stark difference. The maintenance person did come to check on our thermostat, and someone brought us a fan; however, as the fan was very old and noisy, we had no choice but to leave our balcony door open anytime we were in our room and prior to bedtime to cool the room down as much as possible. Due to street noise we would then close the door and the room would slowly heat back up. Luckily we don’t mind 28C+ temperatures, but even for us it got quite hot. Other than the temperature of our room being a bit hot, we had a lovely stay at this hotel and in Málaga and would return to this property again.

Rooftop visit
Just visited this hotel to go and have a drink on the roof top bar. You had to pay €10 which inc your first drink. So 4 have us paid went up and there were no seats. They should not be letting anyone up with no seats and should know when it’s full. We spoke to a very rude unhelpful lady who wouldn’t let us sit where hotel guests are. We went downstairs for a refund and equally when we asked for a refund that was an ordeal too. Eventually we got our refund. What a waste of time and wouldn’t bother with this roof top experience. It was also a rather grubby area.

Drinks & lunch with a fantastic view
We popped in for drinks at the rooftop bar following a couple of recommendations. We were welcomed at the door & directed to the bar via a direct elevator. We had a couple of drinks then decided to stay for lunch which was delicious-Caesar & quinoa salads. The lone server, Patricia, was very pleasant & efficient.
