Great overall stay and fun time.
Great experience. Wonderful all inclusive. Amazing New Year’s Eve event. Choice of meals well done. Staff helpful. Weather was great for beach walks. Pool area user friendly. Access to town a 20-25 minute walk. Safe to walk around. Take comfortable shoes and sandals.

Great resort along the beach
Enjoyed our stay at the Alexandria. Loved being able to walk along the beach (you can not do this at Blue Haven). Also enjoyed you had the option to shuttle to Blue Haven to enjoy a nice dinner and also kayak. Also really enjoyed most of the staff, but especially Lettuce, who was always smiling and laughing - it was contagious! He took the time to talk with our group and played great piano !

Great location
We stayed here over Christmas and new year as a family of 3. The room we had was great with a full kitchen (not sure why when it’s all inclusive), one and half bathrooms a bedroom and a lounge with a sofa bed. When we arrived the sofa bed hadn’t been made up which was odd as there was 3 adults in the booking (our son is 18). We called down to the front desk and they said they would send housekeeping up. Housekeeping arrived and just handed us the bedding to make ourselves. No issue but felt a bit odd. The bedroom and bed I. There was great but the sofa bed was very flimsy and uncomfortable, so we asked for an addition mattress but all we got was an additional duvet to put under my son as he slept on it. This was better but still it great, but that’s maybe what you expect with a sofa bed (although normally in hotels the sofa beds are ok). The balcony was huge and a great outlook. The loungers on the balcony were both broken, so we informed the front desk and they changed them over pretty much straight away. The restaurants on this resort are ok but nothing to shout about. Worth trying them all especially the ones you need to book, but none were great all were just ok. The pool area and bar areas are good and very lively. It’s not a quiet hotel by any means. The beach is good but you have to get down early as all the sun beds get reserved with books and towels. This is something the hotel should manage as we were down there a couple of times and saw beds reserved but people didn’t come and use them until after lunch sometimes. I don’t understand why some people are so selfish. The hotel had plenty of staff in the beach and should remove towels etc if the bed isn’t being used after a couple of hours. There is a free shuttle over to the sister hotel Blue Haven, which we used most days. Blue have is a much quieter resort, smaller but more to do for us a ms a family. Big shout out to Stevenson the bus driver, he was awesome. Lovely guy with a great attitude. The staff over at Blue Haven all seem to be more pleasant. They were much nicer and seemed genuinely happier than the staff at Alexandra. The food at Blue Haven was also better quality. We went there most days and ate the pretty much most of the time. If you are thinking of staying at this resort, book in at Blue Haven if you can. If you want more of a party vibe then Alexandra is the one for you as Blue Haven is very quiet. Whilst we did have quite a few issues at the hotel including the AC breaking down, whenever there was a problem they did resolve it very quickly. I would defo recommend both resorts but just be mindful of if you want the quiet resort or the more lively resort. For us the quiet resort Blue Haven wins hands down and if we go back that’s where we would stay.

Alexandra Resort Experience
We came back from an extremely disappointing and frustrating week at the Alexandra. It was more stressful than relaxing and the service is poor. Yes it was Christmas week so tried to be more tolerant but the service was consistently subpar. First, most of the staff working didn’t seem happy, whether it was a simple hi when passing by or even a smile (except for entertainment staff). Many make you feel as if they are doing you a favor by helping or assisting. It started the first two mornings with towel or being ready to take to the beach or pool followed with a very long wait for smoothies because one person works at the stand. There are two smoothies offered and they didn’t have the berries they needed to make the smoothie. Followed by running out of 2percent milk in the afternoon then going back the next day for hot coffee, which the person filling in not knowing how to make the coffee. Service was incredibly slow for lunch, at times waiting 45 minutes for a simple salad or waiting on drinks from the bar. The waitresses are not proactive on going to kitchen to check so there has to be constant follow up. Chips and salsa to go were stale followed with a soda that was flat. There were times we left because food took so long. They ran out of chocolate icecream and also didn’t have bag of chips most of the week because they didn’t order in time. To go food is a couple of sandwiches in a small fridge, iceberg lettuce and cake. There are nights we went to sleep hungry. I stood on line for 8 minutes to order an omelette only to watch it go to someone else, even though I mentioned it was mine. Had to wait for them to do it over. Food trucks are a good idea but what shows on the menu as ingredients is not what comes out on your plate. If you question, there is attitude from the waitresses as if it’s my fault for wanting what is shown on the menu?? One night, my bed felt like there was sand on it, I called the front desk and they told me that was impossible but they would send someone up. They did, but it was to hand the sheets for me to make our own bed. Another afternoon, the beverage person rang the door bell and we were out on the deck and I was about to answer and he walked right in. It was terrible. At check out I was told that I had a 200 credit to use at the resort but no one informed me at checkin and they apologized for not telling me and nothing more they can do. This was by far the worst experience and I have been to many AI’s. There were times we thought about leaving vacation early. We would never have imagined this. This is definitely not a four star resort - blue haven the sister resort is a whole difference experience, people food, culture. We enjoyed taking the shuttle there. Overall, would NOT recommend this place.
