    Not the best but ok for a short stay

    The stay was pleasant overall but with some issues. We were not aware of "extra fees" $300 due at check-in as we booked thru our travel agency credit card. Then, we were not aware of no elevator access until we had our rooms assigned as we had to take 5 pieces of luggage up and down 10 flights of stairs. Then, we were not aware we have to take out your own trash during our entire 3 days stay there. And lastly, there is never parking spot for our car as all spots are reserved for "owners" of the property.

    A Clean and Safe Apartment Complex

    In researching properties for Kihei I got caught up in needing to be close to Kam 2 beach as it was highly rated and neglected to look into exactly what this property did and did not offer. I saw "resort" and made assumptions about what that entailed as resorts typically have ammenities that are just not here. -The two swimming pools are the same size and are what you would expect at a regualr apartment complex or regular hotel. They are not what I would consider resort-style pools. -Jet spas are very small and fit 4 people max and were crawling with children -Not all grills operational -All parking is in the ramp on the highest level, 3rd floor, no exceptions unless you rent a unit with a dedicated ground floor parking space. Know that you will need to go up and down 3 flights of stairs every time you want to leave. And you will need to leave a lot because everything (food, etc) needs to be driven to or is a minimum 1-2 block walk. Again, clean (our unit and grounds-cannot speak for all units) and safe but wanted more than what Maui Banyan offered.

    Maui...Wowie

    Love our stay at the Maui Banyon. Great location with walking possible to dozens of hotels and shops. Nice views from the lanai and can see the ocean. Staff were friendly and efficient and always cheerful. The room was big and the bed comfortable. We had to change rooms with the initial room having a slow tub drain but we were offered a nice room as the contingency. All good. Beach across the street. Parking on the top level was easy to find each night. The full kitchen allowed us to breakfast at home and then walk to the many Happy Hour places along the beach! Coming Back Soon!
