Great beach, that's about it
The room was fairly clean, but furniture was shabby and needing replacement. Sliding doors were sticky, didn't line up and one was completely off the hinges. Air conditioner barely kept bedroom bearable but one in living area was good. No hair dryer, iron, or remote for tv when we got there. No pillows for pullout couch/bed for kids. Staff was mostly nice but "island time" gets old. I get waiting a little but 2-3 hours is a bit ridiculous for things like a blanket. Food was average at best. Some of the food at restaurants was good, but overall boring with no taste. Could get a Frappuccino at coffee bar first 4 days because blender was broke and if you wanted ice cream you had to be there during certain hours which varied by day or not at all. Couldn't make Mochas last couple days because they were out of chocolate. They were always out of something. I waited half hour plus for an omelet because they ran out of eggs. It rained and our toilet and shower started to back up. Asked for a new room and was told it would be at least 3 hour wait. They weren't worried about our belongings or if we were comfortable, in fact no one even came to check on our situation. Housekeeper did stop and when I told and showed her we needed more than housekeeping she couldn't leave fast enough. Overall beach was great, drinks were decent, service was good but slow. There are better places for less money.

A Gem in Negril
Azul beach is a gem in the Caribbean and although it’s quite a vast property, you still feel like you have the intimacy of a boutique hotel - because of the amazing staff. The hotel is on the 7 mile white sand beach with calm crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. The sunsets are amazing and there’s entertainment laid on from 9pm, which is great for those wanting to wind down the evening sipping a cocktail, while watching the show. There’s a variety of food on offer also, with four main restaurants and another four places to grab lunch or a quick bite to eat, you’ll be spoiled for choice. There’s a water sports centre, with canoes, mini catamarans, paddle boards and they go out fishing tours as well a scuba diving. But the biggest asset this hotel has is the staff. They go out of their way to make your stay fantastic. From the friendly bellman (Dean+) the amazing front desk (Sashay+) to the restaurant and the bar staff. They were just brilliant at making our vacation special. Would definitely recommend!

Second time around
This was our second trip to Azul this year. Our first visit had a few hiccups but we were asked to return and it was absolutely worth it. It was amazing. The room in building 10(swim up) was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We especially loved Jason at the Palm for breakfast

Must read if you are a family looking to book here
Stayed from 6th-13th nov 2024. Family break couple age 32/38 and children age 2/3. Weather was lovely 30 degrees all week some clouds and a couple of evenings of rain but nothing serious, it was a great week of sunshine. Rooms were spacious block 5, kept ok a little shabby but only if you really want to moan. We didn’t have a swim up but we were glad we didn’t book one as we seen flies/bugs in the water all round the hotel and huge crabs on one day that had somehow got into the swim up rooms pool. Food we loved the food but we eat a lot of Jamaican food at home so it was home from home to us and we were satisfied all week. Not a lot if you are fussy or have fussy kids. Beach is beautiful the sea is clear and pretty much still it was like a warm bath honestly couldn’t fault the beach at all. You can see star fish in the water and crabs, a few people got stung by jelly fish in the later evenings but nothing major. Spa I had a full body massage it was lovely and worth it. 90 dollars. Pools the main pool is little but it was empty all week, it was abit dirty I didn’t ever see them test the water and there were a lot of bugs floating around in it and it had the smeary water on top but it was nice and warm so could get straight in without a problem, kids were happy with the temperature of the water. There is no kids pools it states there is on TUI but they lie, it’s a tiny circular bit of water and it is absolutely disgusting I wouldn’t put my toe in it let alone my child, the park is a plastic frame with 2 tiny slides and a couple of sit on rocking things I have never seen anything like it, we were really disappointed it was dirty and full of leaves because no one uses it. It does have a kids indoor room with toys,tv,face painting etc the girls in there are really nice and you can leave them age 4+ if you want to. Entertainment - minimal, ok for adults nothing at all for kids on the evenings which is a massive let down no kids mini disco etc absolutely nothing all other hotels we’ve been to that are family hotels have had something even for an hour for the little ones but these guys do nothing. Overall we had a good holiday we would say it caters more for 40+ adult friend groups or couples, it’s certainly not a family hotel. The vibe is relaxed and it does have some really good things about it but for a family with small kids we wouldn’t return here, they also have some really good staff members. Kaydene in the main restaurant in the daytime is amazing and a couple of the ladies that work alongside her! And dean who helps with your bags and seemed to be working all hours, there are a few more but I didn’t get their names, a great team effort all round but the hotel is not worth anything near what we paid to go there for the week it’s tired and needs a overhaul if trying to attract families.

Not worth it food was terrible
Was really hoping for better especially the food being it stated gourmet. Been to riviera maya and was way beeter I cannot recomend this place. The food wasn't good at all very weird taste and not much of a variety. Cancun has huge areas to eat with lots of choices and fresh fruit. Staff is very slow they don't care to move fast so we stopped tiping. Beach was nice but if you want cheaper deja near the airport has great veiw and all you can eat and drink beach across the street and you have multiple places to eat.
