This was my 6th time at the Azul Resort and it was very Disappointing!
I have been going to this resort, yearly for about 5 years now and this last experience, by far was the worst! I got married this time around and was so disappointed and embarrassed to bring my new husband and family to this place. Checkin process is way too long. We requested a wheelchair for my 90 year old mother-in-law and got one with only ONE foot rest. We were told it would be replaced by a new one but never happened in the TEN DAY stay. Consiarge was more busy trying to sell prestige packages than taking care of the guests. The door handle on the sliding door to swim-out pool was falling off. The TV in my mother-in-law's room not working and roaches had to be killed by her son in the room. NO Ting or ginger ale available for the 10 days we were there. We always had to wait for towels after room was cleaned each day and we were lucky to get beach towels, every day we were told that they are on the way. My aunt stayed in building 12 and her room was cleaned TWICE in 10 days. The property is tired and falling apart in some places. I used to have to make reservations for dinner at the specialty restaurants, which was much more civilized, but now, the have only ONE specialty restaurant open a night and it;s now first come first serve, and the guest are lined up at 6PM, like a herd of cattle. The beach chairs are ALL broken and there are not enough umbrellas to serve the amount of guests. The walkways have wooden planks that are buckling and it's such a safety hazard! ANG THE FOOD...the beach BBQ was hotdogs and burgers with Mac and cheese. Really?! What happened to authentic Jamaican food? No Jerk chicken? Couldn't get oxtail anywhere. As for my wedding, the best part was marrying my love. The time was changed because of rain that never fell and then the wedding coordinator was over 30 minutes late leaving me sweating in my dress longer than necessary. I had to pay extra for my bouquet and just feel like the whole thing was a bit lackluster. I know it's a lot, but people should know that I have witnessed the decline of this resort over the past 5 years and I never thought this would be the case, but I am NEVER going back!

Very Disappointing
I have been vacationing in Negril multiple times per year for over 15 years. However, this is my first time at Azul. This has been by far my worst experience. The food choices are extremely limited, offering only one choice of Jamaican cuisine at the buffet per day. The lack of beach towels is astounding. We were directed by a staff member to go to the housekeeping closet to retrieve clean towels because no one is available to get them for us. Our shower flooded the entire bathroom but the most disturbing part of this entire trip; MY BELONGINGS WENT MISSING FROM MY ROOM! I have 5 sets of Swimsuits and two pairs of towel clips missing. Upon calling front desk, I was told that they would investigate and get back to me. Nothing! This resort is not worth it. I highly recommend staying elsewhere.

Great beach, that's about it
The room was fairly clean, but furniture was shabby and needing replacement. Sliding doors were sticky, didn't line up and one was completely off the hinges. Air conditioner barely kept bedroom bearable but one in living area was good. No hair dryer, iron, or remote for tv when we got there. No pillows for pullout couch/bed for kids. Staff was mostly nice but "island time" gets old. I get waiting a little but 2-3 hours is a bit ridiculous for things like a blanket. Food was average at best. Some of the food at restaurants was good, but overall boring with no taste. Could get a Frappuccino at coffee bar first 4 days because blender was broke and if you wanted ice cream you had to be there during certain hours which varied by day or not at all. Couldn't make Mochas last couple days because they were out of chocolate. They were always out of something. I waited half hour plus for an omelet because they ran out of eggs. It rained and our toilet and shower started to back up. Asked for a new room and was told it would be at least 3 hour wait. They weren't worried about our belongings or if we were comfortable, in fact no one even came to check on our situation. Housekeeper did stop and when I told and showed her we needed more than housekeeping she couldn't leave fast enough. Overall beach was great, drinks were decent, service was good but slow. There are better places for less money.

A Gem in Negril
Azul beach is a gem in the Caribbean and although it’s quite a vast property, you still feel like you have the intimacy of a boutique hotel - because of the amazing staff. The hotel is on the 7 mile white sand beach with calm crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. The sunsets are amazing and there’s entertainment laid on from 9pm, which is great for those wanting to wind down the evening sipping a cocktail, while watching the show. There’s a variety of food on offer also, with four main restaurants and another four places to grab lunch or a quick bite to eat, you’ll be spoiled for choice. There’s a water sports centre, with canoes, mini catamarans, paddle boards and they go out fishing tours as well a scuba diving. But the biggest asset this hotel has is the staff. They go out of their way to make your stay fantastic. From the friendly bellman (Dean+) the amazing front desk (Sashay+) to the restaurant and the bar staff. They were just brilliant at making our vacation special. Would definitely recommend!

Second time around
This was our second trip to Azul this year. Our first visit had a few hiccups but we were asked to return and it was absolutely worth it. It was amazing. The room in building 10(swim up) was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We especially loved Jason at the Palm for breakfast
