Fantastic Hotel, even better Staff!!
Just arrived back from 10 nights. Ignore the bad reviews. Had room 83122, the suite was large and clean, bed was huge and really comfortable. Housekeeping came every day, as did Guest Setvices to refill the minibar. The only downside was, was the room overlooked a service road and a neighbouring hotel service area, so could be a bit noisy with lorries and staff chatting, but, to be honest the sun was not on that side of the hotel so didn't use the terrace. Hotel grounds were well looked after and so were the pools. Food was a plenty! Buffet restaurant catered for everyone and there was always fish and meat cooked fresh, and staff didn't scrimp in serving it. A la Cartes were goo, especially MEAT, pretty sure that is the biggest ribeye I have ever eaten! I cannot say enough good things regarding the staff. They were all friendly, attentive and very caring. Would love to return soon!

Another Pleasant Stay
We stayed at the Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine Nov 26 to Dec 6, 2024. It was our third stay there and again we were very pleased with our vacation experience. We’ve stayed at most of the resorts in the BP complex in Punta Cana and for us, the Aquamarine satisfies our needs best. Positives are it was clean, staff were pleasant and service was generally very good, grounds are beautiful, it seems well maintained, amenities are plentiful, buffet food was tasty with a good selection, rooms are on the traditional side but everything worked fine, pool area(s) are large, beach area is gorgeous, good selection of a la carte restaurants and fare, decent daily and evening entertainment and it’s only 30 minutes from the airport. Moreover, it costs less than the neighbouring “luxury” resorts which have more amenities obviously and have been recently renovated, but other than that are really not much better. FYI, as Privilege Club (resort vacation club) members we are able to use the facilities of all the resorts within the complex except Fantasia, so we do have experience with all the resorts. Negatives are generally few and would include beach is rather crowded and loungers are not easy to find unless you go very early, liquor is mainly domestic with only a few int’l brands (local rum and beer is great), the resort is showing its age, and lounger availability was hit and miss at the pool and there is not enough umbrellas or shady areas. The resort staff and their service truly make the difference for us at this resort and it is an important reason as to why we keep returning. They work so hard! Some who made us feel special include Luciana (pool server), Edwin (waiter at buffet and El Olivia, Ray (animation team), and Edouardo (El Olivia manager) to name a few. The Privilege Club staff we interacted with were outstanding in most cases. Thanks to Dominique, Kepler, Simon, “Batman” and Magadelena. Our next vacation at Aquamarine is already booked. We highly recommend this resort.

Still good but a bit surprised
Overall ok. Surprised that they no longer provide show caps, bedroom slippers or bath robes even for Privileged Club members. I called the front desk and they said they will bring them over but they never did! It was later told to us that they no longer provide those standard stuff except for Ámbar and Esmerada.

Service is uneven across the resort.
The staff who is likely to receive tips is kind. People at the reception desk or controlling access to restaurants are generally super rude. Jennifer at the desk activated cell data on my wife’s phone to troubleshoot WiFi access. ($100 fee)
