Food was good hotel was pretty clean but I dont do good with bad smells! It smelled like bad sewage feces not worth it
It was ok! Food was great but the resort had a terrible smell especially in the bathroom near the buffet!! Rooms were cleaned daily. Fresh and clean towels were given daily which was great. There isnt much of a night life on the resort! Needless to say, I wont be returning! The smell really got to me!

Quick review of New Year’s family trip to Bahia Principe Tulum Dec 29 - Jan 5
Our 32’nd visit to the Bahia Principe Tulum resort over 21 years both as a couple and family and our second large family trip of 19 persons. The resort is very good and the people are what make it special. The rooms are comfortable and of a good size. The food is fantastic, both in the buffets and the a la cartes. The New Year’s buffet and special food offerings is beyond belief. A good job is done careering to a wide a variety of tastes, dietary needs, and cultural preferences. Inclusive beverage offerings are varied and the bartenders skilled. There is a good selection of pools and the beach is stunning and large. The resort is very large and expansive and as part of the larger complex of the Bahia Principe resort it provides a good variety of things to do. It also means traveling as a large family unit you can hang together or get some separation if desired. It does also mean it can get very busy at times. Staff are very helpful and accommodating, doing what they can to meet needs and requests within the rules and boundaries constraining them. We once again renewed our wedding vows having done so there previously in December 2010. The wedding department is very professional and easy to work with. Communication was responsive and the flow of things easy. They took care of every detail and we were definitely not disappointed. The flowers, ceremony and celebration were fantastic. There are a few negatives The resort is very large and can get very busy. The shuttles can be congested meaning it can be difficult and time consuming to get around. During very busy especially at seasonal holiday time. The buffet can be overwhelmed with long lines to get in. Unfortunately, the back door to the buffet is not managed as it was several years ago and large numbers of people freely entered that way bypassing the line and adding to the congestion and backlog out front. Crowd control is not a strength. This year for the for the resort New Year’s eve celebration we purchased premium level, reserved tables by the pool. Sadly, not all access points to this area were managed we had to continuously keep chasing off people from our reserved seating area as they kept trying to take our chairs. Somewhat spoiling the experience. Daily many people would reserve chairs by leaving hotel towels on them and leave them vacant for hours which limited ability to find a space to sit during this very busy season. A few years ago, post renovations the loyalty program changed and was revamped and completely started over. There seem to be no credit to our 30 previous visits over the past 21 years loosing related benefits that we had previously enjoyed. With this change they have basically leveled the playing field taking away any incentive or advantage to lure us to return so we are now open to looking for other resorts that offer the same good food and service. We are lucky to have an amazing travel advisor who can unearth new opportunities and great travel experiences for us. Overall, we enjoyed an amazing family experience and enjoyed interacting with some really amazing resort staff.

Great but several hiccups
It’s hard to not be happy in paradise! The resort is gorgeous, the coatis roaming the property are adorable. Fun poolside events. Beach wasn’t the cleanest and we never had hot water our entire stay despite asking daily for it to be fixed. Don’t snooze on the Indian restaurant, was our favorite meal of the week!

Awesome Service
Beautiful facility. The most impressive part was the level of service we got on the dinner reservations. The service was just as good as at a place where I've spent $100 a plate. Shout out to Uvi at Tequila and Marco at the Indian restaurant, best in the business. We are going to make coming back a yearly thing after this visit
