  Great resort. The beach is amazing especially on the adult side. Food is good but it's a resort not a 5⭐ restaurant but you'll never go hungry. We stayed in a swim up and loved it!! No hesitation about returning and have already booked our next trip

  Visit #12 2025

  We just returned from a 3 week stay , this was our 12th visit . The resort never disappoints and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing laid back vacation. The grounds themselves are beautifully kept and manicured and the beach is second to none . Over the years we have developed friendships with a number of returning guest and the same staff members which is a testament in its self to the resort. Even though this resort is an older resort and could possibly use some updating the rooms are very comfortable , spacious and kept clean. The food is both plentiful and good . The main buffet offers a wide variety for breakfast ,lunch and dinner. La Brisa is a must do for lunch with its panoramic ocean views and Chez Gourmet is definitely our favourite for dinner. There are a number of other fine restaurants to choose from at the Palace including French , Italian, Mexican, Japanese and Steak House all of which we very much enjoyed . Overall this resort has become our definite getaway go to and above all else is the staff, they are friendly , courteous ,extremely helpful doing whatever they can to make our vacation the best ever. We are defiantly looking forward to our next visit and would high recommend this resort .

  Our stay at Barcelo! Helpful staff!

  Staying here with my wife. When checking in we had loads of questions on activities, bookings, reservations as we’ve never done an all inclusive. Natanay came through and helped us out! He took time to walk us through all our options and answered every single question we had.

  We had an great trip, but noted that our experience would be different if we didn’t speak Spanish.

  The people at the pool bar on 3/1 were awesome! We had some room issues (leaking faucet, water from the shower spilling onto floor) but didn’t affect our experience at all. We got feedback before the trip that the food wasn’t great but it honestly was good. I have an allergy (wheat, eat gluten free) that they mostly accommodated, but got cross contaminated at the hibachi (used same utensils). Our experience would have been different had we not spoken Spanish. We were saying we wouldn’t recommend this resort to our parents because they do not speak Spanish. That being said, we were still patient, generous tippers etc. We observed hideous behavior from some of the resort guests and we kept thinking, “If someone spoke to me like that I wouldn’t give them good service.” Everyone does deserve a good experience but the way the workers are regarded by guests is disappointing.

  Relaxing

  Bar tenders are wonderful professionals and get the drinks right at both the lobby bar and pool. Special shout out to Maria Salas. You are SUPER BUENOS!!!! Best service professional in the Adults Only Buffet and in my opinion the entire DR. Early on recognizes you when you enter and treats you like Royalty throughout your meal and your entire stay.
