    Never coming back

    I’m writing to share my disappointment with my recent stay at your resort. While the staff was friendly and tried their best, it was clear they were extremely overworked — one even told me they have to work 12 days in a row just to get 3 days off. That kind of schedule is unfair and unsustainable, and it shows in the overall guest experience. When we arrived, we were told we couldn’t make any restaurant reservations because everything was already booked, so we were forced to eat at the buffet for the entire stay. Unfortunately, the buffet food was terrible — bland, repetitive, and far below what you’d expect from a resort. The room we stayed in looked like it hadn’t been updated in 100 years. There was no bathroom door — just an open space — which meant I had absolutely no privacy while using the bathroom in front of my family. On top of that, several appliances didn’t work, half the outlets were dead, and the air conditioning stopped working completely for a full day. It also felt like the resort was simply over capacity — way too many guests and not nearly enough staff to handle it all. This stay was a major letdown, and I sincerely hope you take steps to improve the guest experience moving forward

    Enjoyable but Poor Food Quality

    PROS: The resort is huge with a variety of room options. The (free) Barcy water park was PERFECT for my 5 yo as well as some of the bigger pools. CONS: It was impossible to get a dinner reservation even immediately at check in. Food quality at buffets were terrible - even a simple hot dog was unpleasant and cold.

    It all ended up great/excellent because of the people I mentioned.

    I’ve hosted several events at this beautiful resort. The process to reserve, coordinate, make changes as a large group is made extremely complicated, tedious and I felt as if the attitude with customer service was high priority in reserving rooms and bringing in the revenue but once the reservations are completed the priority is not customer service or satisfaction. All throughout the tedious process I spoke to multiple agents and was given different information from what I understood at the time of the initial reservations. Instead of being able to make changes and/or confirm necessary info, I was told to E Mail all this info from my group of 65 people’s names/flight information/scheduling/ETC. If Maria Del Carmen hadn’t been sent to me as a customer service ANGEL, I would’ve cancelled the whole event and/or never returned to the resort again. Thank you Mz. Maria Del Carmen. She assisted me and my groups event on most things that probably had nothing to do with her specific job description. She helped me clean up all other customer service agents mess/mistakes/attitudes/etc. She even helped me with the Transportation process and of coarse when she had to pass it on to the actual department that handled that; guess what happened? Total chaos again. I had to resend via E Mail all my groups flight info instead of someone calling me to make it easier for the customer. I felt as if I worked for BARCELO. When I arrived to clean up all the mishaps and/or to make sure my party didn’t have to deal with headaches the Premium Level Check In staff was amazing especially the manager in charge of the staff. Then I was introduced to the other Angel that saved my business with Barcelo ROSSY the wedding coordinator. She became my personal guide/help/agent/angel. She walked me through everything good and bad until I received the good outcome out of all and any possible obstacles. When My party and I was denied entry to The Coral because of a simple misunderstanding not caused by me or my party she took charge/not only asked for forgiveness for something that she didn’t do but more importantly acted very sorry and ashamed for her colleagues mishaps. Her and Aracelis made me and my party feel as if we were important and valued as Barcelo customers. I am a man of business and understand all values from moral to money making to prioritizing interest. There are certain protocols followed that should be revised under certain circumstances to continue to protect the interest of the business of BARCELO but at the same time to not wear out a customer like me to make it easier to just not return and never conduct business again and definitely not refer. I know for a fact that very little people will analyze/view or think things out the way I handled them. Thank you MARIA/ROSSY/ARACELIS/PREMIUM CHECK-IN LEVEL MANAGER/ALL THE LADIES FROM THE WEDDING COORDINATING DEPT( which showed up at 8pm or so when my party was denied our reservation to mediate/and make me feel good when they are the WEDDING COORDINATORS not customer service or reservation managers. If anyone really wants to improve for a situation like this to never happen- please get in contact with me directly and I will be more than happy to share exact details and assist with sharing my experience/views/opinion.     Honeymoon here 2000, Remember as Garden of Eden.💕Hoping for repeat 11-11-2025🤗🥰⛳️🏝️🏖️🙏😎. Barcelo Bavaro Resorts beautifu

    Spent our Honeymoon here 11-11-2000. Paradise!!!! Meant to come back for 1st Anniversary 2001, finally going 25 years later. Fond memories of grateful staff,, lovely clean grounds and welcome, humble, friendly staff. Looking forward to Another Beautiful getaway in Paradise 11-11-2025. We’ve always remembered as Paradise, hope it will be again. Brushing up on language, was only issue. Our bad, not their’s , their island and home. Staff was absolutely lovely and accommodating and hoping to find a liaison to help have another magical getaway!!! Counting the days til,,,,,laaahhh🏝️🏖️🏊🏽‍♀️🏌️⛳️
