Comfort and Beauty With Smiles
For the third year in a row we loved Barcelo. Service with a smile and genuine friendship are a staple at this hotel, we love the size and location of the Hotel it is optimal for us, cleanliness throughout is ongoing .we are frequent swimmers, Tomas the dedicated young man that keeps the pools in pristine condition must be commended. The Life Guards that keep children out of the adult pool are very observant and enforce the no children policy. Service around the beach and pool area is a friendly experience with efficiency. Fernando and Carlos Catatlan along with Marcial Maya are fantastic and upbeat every day. The Tortuga Restaurant, available for breakfast and lunch is a scenic venue, views of Tangolunda Bay. You are greeted with a warm smile from Gabriela, Luz and Adriana, the waiters, Fransisco, Luis , Tomas, Carlos, Adan do a amazing job and always with a warm greeting and smile. The Agave Mexican Ala carte is a place we visit frequently and love the level of service from Victor and others. Fontana the Italian Ala carte is a beautiful restaurant with a piano player to add to the experience. The menu has a great selection of items. Best steaks in Mexico. We always sit near the ocean wall near the entertainment team. Contrary to other reviews the music isn’t overwhelming , Alberto the supervisor is very outgoing and friendly as is Abraham and the rest of the crew. The Lobby has a very talented house band with fantastic vocals, joined by a very good female and male vocalist. People dance on occasion ( M & M ) you deserved 10 for every dance. Servers Lydia and Canterina are apleasure each and every evening. The Premium Lounge is a very pleasant place to get a drink , Victor and Eduardo mix great drinks with the Barcelo Huatulco smile and friendly attitude. Xemena and Kady are extremely focused on enhancing the resort experience , starting at check in and sadly at check out. Monika from guest services with her ever present can I help you smile is a gem. The Christmas Tree lighting party was amazing, dancers and Mariachis, house band many happy excited children Samuel the bellman books taxis and is a wealth of information. This hotel is very fortunate to have Sub Director Esau Navarrete and Food and Beverage Manager Etanislado Valdovinos lead the customer service focused team at Barcelo Huatulco. We are returning in Nov/Dec 2025

Great facility, questionable food setvices
The staff are amazing! Freindly and accomodating. Our room is great, it's been updated and well maintained. The buffets (especially the breakfast one in the main building) are dissapinting only due to the lack of temperature control on the food. The resort does not seem to want to heat the chafing trays,so everything that is served buffet style is colder than room temperature. Very dissapointing. Our experience at the Mexican Ela cart restaurant wasn't that great either, we've never felt so rushed through a meal anywhere before.

The best staff! Clean. Nice beach. Amazing house band and singers!
The staff are the best we've encountered at any all-inclusive. Seriously, every one of them! The house band (can't remember all their names) and singers (Diana, Martin and Adam) are amazing! They entertain guests before, during, and after the shows. We will miss them most! The dancers were also very good. Missed Bruno's dancing week two and his triple pirouettes. But they were all great! Our lobby server, Lidia, would welcome us each evening with her warmth and our favorite drink. The beach is beautiful and very swimmable! The sand is so nice. No rocks! Clear water, which I didn't expect on the Pacific side. Abraham and the daytime entertainment team worked hard to get guests involved and enjoy themselves, by the pool, with the beach activities, kayaking, etc. Food was good. Small buffet and I'm vegetarian but I still always found something yummy to eat. Drinks were average but plentiful. They have Disaronno in the lobby! Mmm... Alberto, the host of the evening shows, took the time to video my husband and I dancing and sent it to me. I can't say enough how amazing the staff is here. They take time to get to know guests and treated us so special. Including management. The location is excellent. Quick 15 - 20 minute ride from the beautiful little airport. Also, just a quick, inexpensive cab ride into Santa Cruz or La Crucecita. Both are worth visiting. The people in this area are just so kind. Our room was super clean and just perfect. Everything worked well. We didn't pay extra for premium and didn't feel like we missed out on anything. The resort, in general, was super clean and well kept. Maintenance was always working on something. Trimming hedges, painting, watering plants.. Oh, and the Christmas tree lighting celebration! That was so nice! Hot chocolate and cookies being served, singers and dancers performing Christmas carols. It was really special. We would love to return to Barceló Huatulco!

Healing hands of Concepcion
Excellent professional and super friendly team of SPA staff. Amelia’s friendly approach and Concepcion’s healing hands work their magic on my tense neck and shoulders. The reception and treatment room is very fresh and up to date. Tasty refreshments are offered after the treatment. Recommend them warmly and make sure to book no less than 90min 😉

Do not get married here!
My husband and I decided to get married here last April. From the beginning we found the organizer to be very contradicting and confusing on regards prices and what it was or it was not included with our package and we found many stressful situations before and within the wedding day: NOT WILLING TO TRANSLATE MENUS TO ENGLISH: My husband do not speak Spanish, only me. During the organization of the wedding before the event, they sent us the selection of menus to choose from only in Spanish and when we asked them to send them in English as well, Deyanin (the coordinator) told me that it was not translated and that we had to translate it on Google. This is an international hotel that should have menu in both, English and Spanish and the way she said we needed to use google was rude, specially when we were spending thousands of dollars in their hotel. There were more than 10 menu options for each meal time and I had to translate and explain each one to my husband because the organizer refused to do that. TIME IN RECEPTION: We spent hours of our time at reception due to problems with reservations and messy logistics. Before our arrival to the hotel, we gave the coordinator the list of names, reservation codes, and every detail needed to avoid those problems, however, we still had to be hours of our time in reception, along with our invitees, to make sure that everything was ok. Even, a couple had to ask for a reimbursement as they were charged double, when the coordinator told me that they were just paying the half that they had not paid (which, again, for bad logistics, it was not true). MARIACHI HIRED: The coordinator received from me a list of the songs we wanted the mariachis to play, and on the day of the event they played maybe 3 songs from the list. We paid about $600 dollars for a mariachi that did not played what we wanted. They actually played a lot of songs I didn't even know and that did not really like them. COORDINATION DURING THE EVENT: Everyone was waiting for the coordinator to move people to start the ceremony and in the end my brother and my bridesmaid had to try to coordinate people to start the event. Which caused the ceremony to be delayed (and the rest of the schedule). CENTREPIECES: Deyanin offered to put together our centrepieces. We were going to do this, but, since she offered it, we said why not! My friend showed her how they should look, and when we saw them on the tables, they were very poorly made. The plants were not cut and it looked very bad with long stems in a very small vases. They were very disproportionate to the vase. Some vases had 2 twigs, some more, some nothing and my friend, upon realizing it, was trying to make them look better, although since there was no time, she couldn't leave them the way they should be anyway. My mom told me that the coordinator told her that she did not have time to do it as requested, but we would have preferred that she had told us and we had done it ourselves in that case a day before, since I invested time and money in having some pretty decorations that in the end, did not look good at all. DECORATION: My bridesmaid spent a lot of time helping with the coordination. She supposed to be there only to check that things were decorated as we wanted. She told me that first Deyanin left her waiting for a long time at the reception to receive the decorations. There, she showed her and sent her photos of how the centrepieces should look and explained how to put the flowers and in the end they didn't even look like that. My friend also realized that the chairs at the ceremony did not have the poems that my friend made and that she had told her that each chair had to have and she spoke to her to tell her about this. She also mentioned to me that Deyanin called her to go to the reception garden because she was missing names for the tables. My friend says that she gave her all the names and had checked them about 3 times before giving them to her to make sure they were all there, and in the end Deyanin couldn't find them. My friend had to redo a lot of them and rearrange them herself because she just left it there for her to do and walked away. Which should not have happened because I gave her a very detailed diagram with the names assigned on each table and location. My mom had also made some personalized bags with hangover kits to give to the guests. These were never given until we asked the coordinator for them a day later, as she had only stored them. FOOD: The food at dinner was honestly very, very bad. The menu at the buffet was much better than the food they gave us. The meat was dry and everything was very bland. Very embarrassing with our guests. EARLY BREAKFAST: After staying up until almost 3am on the day of the wedding, the coordinator arranged for our breakfast to be delivered to us at 7am. According to her, we had told her that time. There is no way we would have said 7am!! We were very tired and hungover and it took away the romance of receiving our breakfast in our room. PREMIUM BRACELETS: As per the endless love wedding package, we supposed to have premium bracelets for all our stay. When we changed our premium suite to a luxury suit to reduce cost, the reception denied to give us premium bracelets even when I mentioned that it supposed to be included with the package. We did not call a manager or discuss more about it cause we were already very tired of spending so much time in reception. LEAKAGE IN BATHROOMS: This has nothing to do with the wedding but, our bathroom in the room had a water leak the first day and one of the guests mentioned to us that they had a leak in their room as well. The hotel do not have enough coordinators to really do a good job in a very important and once in a life time day. Also, every time that we talked with the coordinator, she seemed disconnected. Even in texts, she could be asking for something that I had just told her like if she was not really paying attention to what I wrote. It was just a horrible experience full of frustration and stress for everyone.
