4th time at this resort in less then 3 years years. The staff make it absolutely amazing and unforgettable. Certain staff deserve extra recognition. German the best drink mixer on resort located at the Teuqila bar is 100/10. Amazing amazing person and no review I could ever give him will do the justice he deserves. Amazing amazing person!!!!! Also huge thank you to the entire Casino staff. Typically it’s the same staff year after year and they are absolutely amazing. Two managers that both go above and beyond to treat you as your special guest: If you’re looking for the best staff you will find at any resort in Cancun/Maya look no further, this is the resort you have to at least check out once. And I bet it won’t be your last time. Thank you again to all the amazing staff at Barceló Maya you’re all the absolute best!!!!!! Once again thank you to the Casino managers and my amigo at the tequila bar for another amazing trip!!! Till next time Barcelo!!!!

Nov 22, 2024Mediocre Attentiveness to Details, Poor Value
Quite expensive for mediocre food and service that consistently failed us. We went for a wedding and spent the vast majority of time outside the actual wedding resolving issues with staff, including security issues with our room.

Nov 21, 2024Resort was nice, clean and safe. Premium service worth it. Premium check in and transportation frustrating
Pros: Paid for premium suite, and it was worth it. The resort was very clean, nice and safe. The staff was friendly, in the restaurants, pool area and house keeping. The transportation package is worth it. The Mexican and Spanish restaurants were very good. Con: poor communication from the transportation department. I called 4 different times and no one would help. Emailed 6 times. They finally confirmed they had my info and would pick us up one day before arrival. When I asked how to coordinate transportation back to the airport, no one could answer we. The buffet food was horrible and by day 2 we were totally over it, which is a struggle because there are no other options. Premium check in should have been lovely, how Michelle checked us in and she was very rude. She confused herself multiple times and then blamed it on us. We sat there in shock as it was unbelievable and impossible to process. For making a first impression for a customer she did a horrible job.

Nov 20, 2024Fully deserved 5-star hotel rating, but there is still some room for improvement
Pros - everything except the few things below. Cons: - out of 8 days there was just 2 days of Wi-fi at the pools - the AC in the room was not adjustable - the TV had a few black lines running vertically in the middle of the screen Recommendation - it is OK to close the kids club at 5 pm, but leave the outdoor playground open. The buffet restarant was excellent, just made me regret that I could not eat endlessly. I highly recommend teh Japanese restaurant, despite that it is a bit understaffed - the experience is worth one less glass of wine. Lots ans lots of stuff for the kids to do. For adults too. Many pools, all nice and clean. The staff was helpful, kind and efficient. Caribe is in the middle of a 5-resort Barcelo complex, if you like to explore, this is the place. There are 2 malls inside the complex, next to Caribe.

Beautiful resort, be alert if you have allergies!
We LOVED this resort and despite difficulty with food we would probably return. It was difficult to locate a manager each time we ate to make sure what we selected was Gluten free. None of the food items are marked with allergens, beware. That aside, this resort and grounds are beautiful!! 25,000+ steps a day easily! We loved the pools and amenities! Budget for all the extras because you will likely want to try them! The beach was awesome, Water was warm, Looks were so much fun! So many memories made!!
