A very nice place to take the family

I was looking for a resort that had a nice beach, good pools, good food, and nice rooms. All of my expectations were exceeded. The beach is very nice. There are some rocky areas but I swam over them with goggles and saw many fish. They have nice pool areas for kids. We did have two suites in the premium area which I thought were exceptionally nice. The grounds are professionally maintained with lots of palm trees and other plants. The food was good and generous. We saw the Fiesta Mexicana show. It highlighted the traditional dances from several provinces of Mexico. The dancers were all very good. All the staff were friendly and attentive. I hope I will be able to come back when my grandchild is a little older so he can take advantage of more of the activities.

    Nothing wrong, nothing exceptional

In my limited experience (4th all inclusive resort in Mexico), it was what I’ve come to expect from an all inclusive resort at this price range. Nothing that makes it stand out from the others & there is nothing to complain about…just a few things to have a heads up about before you go. Be sure to book reservations at restaurants way before your arrival—we booked 3 days before our arrival and were left with 930pm dinners & missed out on Kyoto. Be sure to find out how to use/book the amenities like steam rooms, spa areas, etc. in advance so you have the opportunity to enjoy them.

    Barcelo Maya Colonial

We loved, loved, loved, the food and service at Mare Nostrum restaurant. Rene, Roman and Enrique made our last night so special. We had gone on Tuesday and wanted to return the restaurant again. Once more we had the best food and service. A big shout out to Gabriel at the Colonial Premium level for helping me with my reservation and my family needs. I cannot thank you enough! Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience 😁 Muchas Gracias, Familia Zepeda López.

Food got boring but great facility!

The food kinda got old but the staff was excellent. A great value for the money. So clean and well attended.

    GJWW Festival at Barcelo Maya

Overall good experience. Beautiful beach Food at the specialty restaurants was good. Buffets were terrible. Would probably not return because of the poor food quality.
