the staff , service were unfriendly and not helpful. they are charging Vegas prices for sub par resort.

Very disappointed for the price
Booked premium level for our 10yr anniversary thinking it's a good option. NOOOOT. it's the same type of room as the maya beach regular room except ypu have a rain shower in bathroom outside of tub and a regular shower inside tub . That's it. No turn down service no nothing. Premium drinks drinks big deal bartenders don't pay attention to bracelets. Bedroom is soft and old, pool area isn't swept since we are here. No Mexican coffee have to walk to Caribe every morning. Food quality is not great . Pop is flat and at the buffet near pool they have no ice in machines. Tried changing hotels and of course want to charge you additional thousands of dollars pp per day. Barcelo is off our list of Mexico destinations

Travel with a group of seven others if traveling with a group don’t plan to eat together as a group and they will not allow it pretty disappointed

Loved this resort. Very spacious so not great for people with mobility issues. Lots of walking to and from rooms. Food, service, rooms, grounds, entertainment, staff all excellent.

Barcelo Maya is a spectacular resort complex still ... after our 7th visit.
It's the Barcelo staff who go the 'extra mile' to serve you with enthusiasm and care. As well, the Premium option is well worth it with its 1. special check-in reception desk and lounge (all of the Premium front desk staff were resourceful and smart, particularly Gabriel Cifnevos )2. daily hydrotherapy booking at the spa and 3. advanced restaurant reservations, to name only a few of the benefits. We would like to list some of the wonderful and attentive people who work so hard and cheerfully to serve you with exceptional meals. Those included Jesus Noh & Miguel Cisneos in the Trattoria, Diaz (Daniel) & Enrique in the Mare Nostrum, Margelly Hav in the Colonial Buffet, Flor in the Tropical Buffet and Samira & Narcia in the Capri. All restaurants and buffets offered gluten free options which we really appreciated and enjoyed. As well, Transat flights and airport transfers were smooth and relaxing. Max, our Transat resort rep with informative and very helpful. Please pass along our commendation and thanks to all of these fine Barcelo employees. In summary, Barcelo Maya is a spectacular resort complex ... still, after our 7th visit! Simply amazing. Thank you and wishing everyone continued success.
