Overall, the trip was okay, I kept having to log into the WiFi even if I didn’t leave the property. Also my key card for my room kept not working and locked us out of premium lounge when we did pay for it However, the rooms were very well kept. Would recommend adding more amenities or nights like karaoke and dancing.

A very nice hotel with a great staff who were very accommodating. I really enjoyed the landscaping of the grounds: waterfall, plants and flowers.

Jan 26, 2025Bad overall experience in business trip. A 4 days of my stay I suffered from a lack of towels in the room
All 4 days of my stay I suffered from a lack of towels in the room, they cleaned the room even though I put up the do not disturb sign and they took the towels that were still good for use and did not replace them. There was a lack of glasses and cups every day at breakfast, there was a lack of international food options at breakfast, there were typical food options that did not please the taste of all guests at all. The hotel was crowded and the service was slow.

Great weekend stay
My fiance and I stayed at Barcelo San Jose for two nights at the end of our Costa Rica trip. I chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and had a free airport shuttle. We were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the hotel was when we showed up. The food options are great, the spa services were wonderful, and the overall atmosphere feels luxurious without being pricey. My only complaints were that the room smelled a little bit musty - likely because of the humidity, and that it was difficult to get ahold of housekeeping when they did not provide us towels. I would stay here again if I had to be near the airport in San Jose for a couple days.

Good option for a hotel midway between the city center and the airport
We stayed at this hotel for one night prior to our flight home. The room was comfortable, with a private outdoor area, check-in a little slow, good sports bar with many TV options throughout, good selections at the buffet breakfast and a free shuttle to the airport. Reasonable price - a great option for us.
