Nice but so busy and crowded
We were a group of 6 that stayed here February 26 - March 8, 2025. Although the resort is very well kept and clean, I was not overly impressed. The beach was nice but crowded and of course there were chair wars. We even witnessed a fist fight break out over someone stealing a reserved lounger. The ocean had a LOT seagrass and weeds floating in. The other big draw back was the party boats that parked nearby everyday blasting their music trying to entice customers. It was so loud. The vendors were no problem. A polite no thank you was all it took for them to move along. The main pool was so packed. We decided to try it one afternoon. The water was very warm. I would avoid it as it is just a breeding ground for bacteria. Perhaps it has been the pool and not the food making people sick(?) The smaller pool over by building 13 was so nice and clean and quiet so that is where we would go later in the afternoon. Our room was nice and the bed was very comfortable. It was cleaned daily and water, beer and pop was left each day in the mini fridge. We left a small tip each day for the maid. The air conditioning worked well and we had hot water everyday. We were originally put on the ground floor but we asked to be moved to a room higher up for privacy. They switched us with no problem what so ever. Trying to get into the ala cartes was a bit of a nightmare. We were able to go to the Italian restaurant the 2nd night without much of a wait but it was a nightmare the next night trying to get into Tiki Taco. it took about 3 hours from the time we lined up til the time we actually got served. We were never offered a beverage. I actually got up and went to the bar to get a glass of wine and the manager told be to go sit down and someone would bring it (which never happened). When we finally got our meal (we all ordered the tacos) they were disgusting so we left. A big disappointment. We tried to get into the Grill ala carte but it was a huge wait every time we tried so we gave up. We did manage to get into Tierra 2x without much of a wait. This place was a hidden gem. I don't know if no one knew about it or if people just don't like a Brazilian restaurant but we quite enjoyed it. We were able to make a reservation for Chopsticks but just for a general table, the teppanyaki was always full. It was very loud in this restaurant which would be fine if you were seated at the teppanyaki grill but we were not. The food was good though, definitely try the deep fried ice cream. The main buffet was good for breakfast but the food was cold. Your best bet is stand in line for something directly off the grill. The desserts were fabulous! One thing I didn't care for was the loud music that they played every night outside the main buffet. We would meet for drinks around 6:30 to enjoy a relaxing drink before heading to dinner and soon after there would be music blasting. Not sure why they thought they needed to play it so loud. The snack truck was a very good choice for lunch. No line ups and great food. Highly recommend the chicken wrap. The lunch bar near the beach was pretty good. Pizza was good. The burgers were a little cold but there was a panini press right there that you could warm it up on. Fries were plentiful and usually nice and hot. All in all, I would not go back to this place as its just too big and way to loud for my taste.

Wouldn’t recommend
Got up graded to adult club on arrival. Room had no dressers or clothes storage so couldn’t un pack. Limited closet space. Bed leg was broken. Patio door would not lock. There was a leak bathroom ceiling. We put waste can to collect water. It rained hard one day and the ceiling in hallway collapsed in a few areas, water in hallway floors. The drains by pool overflowed with mud everywhere. Only good thing going for this resort is the staff

"The Good, the Bad, and the Slow: Sunscape Coco 2025"
Our Recent Stay at Sunscape Coco, Punta Cana (February 2025) This was our second time staying at Sunscape Coco. In 2024, we had a wonderful experience with excellent service. Unfortunately, this year, the service was a disappointment—very slow and frustrating at times. For example, waiting 30 minutes just for coffee or tea was common, and servers didn’t want guests to touch the coffee pots. Staff and Hospitality One highlight remains: the staff are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. It’s clear they work hard to ensure guests feel welcome. Check-In and Checkout Check-in took over 45 minutes. While the manager, Jose, was polite and humble, the process lacked efficiency and organization. More staff and better management could have helped ease the guest traffic. Rooms Feb 12–14: We stayed in an ocean-view honeymoon suite (Bldg 2, Floor 3). The room was nice, but the bathroom had cracked floors, low water pressure, and a slow shower flow. Feb 15–16: We stayed in a pool-view room (Bldg 2, Floor 4). This time, there was no hot water, no towels, and the TV didn’t work. After multiple follow-ups, some issues were resolved, but it was frustrating to be asked if we knew how to operate the TV—it turned out the TV was broken. Room cleanliness was consistently good, with maids cleaning and setting up the beds daily. However, tips seem to have become an expectation, possibly because many guests offer them in advance. Dining Experience Food was acceptable but not memorable. Proper labeling of dishes is lacking, posing risks for vegetarians, vegans, or those with allergies. Some dishes, like rice, unexpectedly contained meat, which made dining challenging for vegetarians/vegans. The Italian restaurant was closed, leaving fewer options. Reservations weren’t required (except for Chopsticks), but lines during peak hours were long. Amenities and Activities Pools: Clean and enjoyable. Beach: Limited chairs, often taken early in the morning, and significant seaweed issues. Entertainment: Evening shows (e.g., circus and magic shows) were fun and well-executed. Other Observations Smoking was permitted anywhere, as there were no designated smoking areas, which negatively impacted the experience. Fridge refills were inconsistent, with fewer snacks compared to our 2024 visit. Overall While there were positives like friendly staff, clean pools, and enjoyable entertainment, the slow service, check-in delays, room issues, and lack of attention to dietary needs made this year’s stay less enjoyable than our 2024 visit. Safety: Sunscape Coco resort is generally safe for guests. Security measures at Sunscape were less strict compared to those observed at Dreams, which may be an area to strengthen.

Thank you Raquel
Nice resort. You must check food before eating though. Twice our meat and chicken were uncooked and if we weren’t paying attention we could have gotten sick. It’s clean and staff are very friendly and accommodating. We LOVED Raquel in Kaleidoscope! She was so friendly, remembered all (9) of our names and was always smiling. Thank you Raquel for making our meals special.

It was OK....
Staff is wonderful, rooms are clean but be prepared to never EVER get a place to sit no matter how early you get up. Chairs are reserved for days by people who are nowhere to be found. Terrible to allow this!! Beach was too windy to enjoy but pools were nice...
