Feb 18, 2025So unhappy & disappointed in everything!
Food was cold in Restaurants including Buffet. Had pasta in Italian rest and no seasoning. No salt. Bland! Very noisy hotel. All room doors slam loudly. Rarely slept cuz of this. A simple adjusting of the hinges would do. Staff setting up chairs at pool 1:15am. Slamming and dragging chairs. Same in buffet at same time? No hot water in shower and no cold water in fridge. Staff advised me shuttle to airport I paid for would arrive 9am and came 8:30 and left 8:40 and staff didn't call me. Manager advised me not their responsibility and kept stating "no one in staff would tell me shuttle at 9am" and never apologized and didn't offer to pay for taxi to airport cuz shuttle advised me they wouldn't come get me. My flight was at 11am and it was 9:30. Few in staff spoke English so difficult to ask for anything or complain. TV all spanish channels. Advised they could switch for 2 days and after numerous trips to my room and no one understanding English, learned could not switch to English. Dirty sheets left on floor by maid,

This resort is older, but kept spotless! The hole staff is absolutely amazing! They made the trip one of our best! Food was good, service is amazing. Location was great, close enough to town to walk. The only 'bad' thing is the beds were not the most comfortable. But we are definitely coming back to this resort!!

We love it!
So far we have enjoyed our stay so much! This resort has been good since the moment we checked in. I came here with a group of girlfriends and it’s been everything we wanted and more! The food is good the drinks are good! We loved the entertainment and Zumba! A big shout out to Angela and the bar team for making our experience memorable!

Service at canto del sol.
Angela was a wonderful server and everyone was great. I would definitely recommend this place and the people. Will be back again 100% lots to do and if feels more like an authentic Mexican experience. Just use a taxi cause rental cars are a waste of money. Lol

Feb 17, 2025The good, bad and ugly
This place was so so….we had trouble with our room as we were on main floor and we wanted a balcony, also a lizard in the room so I like to stay higher up. This took a number of days and we kept hearing “come back tmrw.” Well we got a room with partial view of ocean but we also got worse problems. Safe wouldn’t open, which ended up to be an easy quick fix, deadbolt didn’t work and we spent a fair amount of time dealing with this. The place is very old and run down, shower looked like it had mold spots on it. Bed was horrendous, mattress and bed skirt were stained, foam topper was black and filthy. Door to balcony was very hard opening and closing. I wasn’t willing to try to “fight” for another room. It needs maintenance badly and renovation! I’ve been to many resorts in different areas of Mexico and Caribbean and this was the worst room I had seen. Food was pretty good but with not a ton of choices, lots of Mexican food if that’s what u like. Italian restaurant was good but not enough food on plate. Surf and turf was nice location with view of ocean but food wasn’t great, ribs were tough and fatty, we went to buffet afterwards. Entertainment was good, beach was steep and rocky with most palapa too low. Pool was always busy as most people sit there. Serving staff in buffet were very friendly but front desk staff, seemed like we were bothering them when we talk to them. No facecloths after asking several times. It’s nice that they have some shops close by to browse in and also massage and nails if that’s what u want. Location is right in city for touring and close to airport. Grounds were kept beautiful with many shrubs, plants and trees. I wouldn’t go back, as it is just too run down for me.
