Jan 09, 2025Waikiki Grand is a hidden gem
This hotel is dated but I would not stay anyplace else. The hotel is located a half block from the beach with views of the Diamond head volcano. The front counter staff was very polite and helpful any time we needed them. There is a restaurant and bar on the in the hotel on the 3rd floor. which serves cold beer. We did not eat at the restaurant. We did eat at the burger restaurant which is attached to the hotel on the first floor the burgers were very good. The restaurant on the 3rd floor plays music every night so if you want a quiet night get a room at the rear of the hotel. We took a tour of the island, and our tour guide was the best. We plan to return in 2026 to the Waikiki grand for another great stay

I booked our accommodation through the company in regards to my Mum and I staying there for 9 days early December as she was running the Honolulu marathon. We are from New Zealand and I had been in contact with the hotel for the 11 months before we arrived in regards to our travelling plans. Too be honest I didn't realise that where we were staying was separate from the main hotel and we weren't entitled to room service ie changing of sheets/towels and cleaning. Maybe trip advisor needs to upgrade their website so when you pay over $2'000 for the stay you actually get your money's worth! I found the hotel manager had no idea who we were and actually sent me an email saying he was unhappy that my Mom and Dad weren't happy. This wasn't the case as it was just the two of us (Mum and daughter). I feel that the communication could've been better for an international company whom has many foreigners visiting this gorgeous place. I loved Waikiki, yet next time I would look at other accommodation if staying there again.

Happy Honolulu Travelers
Perfect location. Beach was across the street. 10th floor balcony offered excellent setting for sunset pictures,Our studio had everything we needed. Front desk was very supportive and helpful. Host Bill provided very detailed instructions for everything. If you have a vehicle and parking is available on site, purchase it as other lots/spots can be challenging to provide parking at certain times of day and evening.Thanks again.

The best place to be

Experience at the Waīkikī Grand Hotel.
Great location and staff! Make sure to pre-reserve parking and it’s not very big so a compact car. Also the staff was so nice and friendly. The deck had the best views of the sunsets and beach. Right next to honolulu zoo too. I had the best experience at the place.
