The staff are amazing-friendly, super organized with activities for kids + adults, + accommodating. Food is FANTASTIC!!!

We had an incredible experience at this resort. The staff work so hard to please. We were here over Christmas and the food and activities and decorations throughout the day were outstanding. I highly recommend this resort for anyone who wants to relax in the sun with fabulous food and great amenities. The gym is also incredible!!

Travel Agent - full and honest review

I am a travel agent that normally sells adults only. As I have been getting more and more requests for family friendly resorts, I decided to spend a couple of nights here (4) to get a feel for the property and see if I could promote it to my clients. Upon arrival, Ivan greeted us and instructed us on what to do with our bags, and where to park our vehicle. He then presented us with a cool beverage and after we got checked in, he brought our bags to our room. We booked the Privilege Romance DELUXE thinking this room was the 'best' they had, but I was wrong. The DELUXE room does NOT come with a plunge pool, or any sort of view... unless you want to watch cars drive up and down the road between the resort and the condominiums. It is also listed as 18+, but I assume that only refers to the ROOM, not necessarily the building as we saw (and heard) children running the halls. We arrived too late to get reservations at any of the a la carte restaurants, however with Privilege we have access to BLoved for all meals. We went to the restaurant at 7PM, saw at least 5 empty tables (probably more). Gave our name and was only told to sit and wait. Next person comes in, they are told 20 minutes. Another couple comes in, they are seated immediately. Next family told 30 minutes. After waiting 10 minutes I went to ask how long it would be. Just a minute, the hostess went to talk to another worker, near a group of empty tables... they stood there, not returning, so we left. Went to the Mercado Buffet. Sat down and asked for a gin & tonic. Was told only beer and wine. Walked to a bar and got a G&T then went to the room and ordered room service. 1 pizza, 1 burger and 1 club sandwich (both came with fries). Arrived in about 30 minutes. The pepperoni on the pizza seemed uncooked, while the crust was rock hard. You could bang it against the plate without breaking it. The fries were room temperature, and not fully cooked. The burger was also room temperature. The club sandwich... the bread was mushy (typically happens when it's made ahead and put in a refrigerator). We managed to each about half of the pizza, and then resorted to snacks we brought with us. The next morning we did breakfast buffet at LaBrisa. Service & food were good. They had a station for omelets and one for fried eggs, mexican style. I had pre-arranged a site inspection with the business development manager at 930 in the lobby. We waited till 945, and finally tried asking someone... and not one person knew the name of the person we were meeting with! They then escalated and did some checking only to find out... he was at the COSTA MUJERES resort! Irene then offered to show us around. Unfortunately they claim they were at full capacity, and could not show me any of the other room types. She walked us around, showed us the basics, didn't go into any of the closed restaurants. Said if I needed anything else to let her know. Went to get my G&T, asked specifically for Beefeaters. Was told that is only for EXCLUSIVE members, not privilege. Exclusive is their 'vacation club/timeshare' thing. The bartended offered Tanqueray gin saying - this is better than beefeater! I said, if it were better... IT would be on the Exclusive shelf! Had lunch at BLoved, and the food and service were EXCELLENT. After lunch went to get some towels to lay by the beach. We were supposed to have towels delivered to our room as part of the privilege package, but that did not happen. Went to the towel desk... they are CLOSED between 1 & 2. At this point we went back to the room, and I asked the front desk if it would be possible to check out and get a refund for our remaining 3 nights. Since I booked through a supplier and not directly, I was stuck here or throw away $800USD. Positive highlights: Privilege area has a separate pool and beach. the pool always had empty chairs when we went. There were never more than 3 other people in it which was nice. Creperie had very good crepes. The water access is very calm. The grounds are well maintained. The couples massage was very nice. they did NOT try to upsell us or push anything. Mini-bar was regularly stocked. Housekeeping was very thorough! Negative highlights AC thermostats do NOT WORK!! You can set it at whatever temp you want, but it doesn't stop when it reaches there, eventually freezing you out. A SMOKERS paradise! Smoking at lobby entrance so smoke permeates inside. People sitting in beach loungers smoking, people walking around the resort smoking. Getting dinner reservations is a crap shoot. They tell you to start online at 755, which is a lie. The first day I tried. It showed openings at 800AM. I filled out the information, got to the end, and within that SAME MINUTE... already full. Next day we tried again starting 755... and it wasn't available until 805, and we got lucky and got a reservation at the GRILL (Steakhouse). Buffets had only soda, coffee, juice, beer & wine. Buffet is UNSANITARY! People are using dirty plates to go back and get second helpings of food. At lunch there one day, a guy walked in with only his bathing suit bottoms, no shirt, no shoes, and was able to get food. People standing at the stations waiting for a burger of chicken... and EATING their food while waiting (dropping crumbs). Several staff members are friendly, but far too many do not say hello as they pass you. There is 'regular', privilege and EXCLUSIVE. However even with privilege there are multiple colored bracelets making it impossible to know if regular people are using privilege facilities. We saw nobody checking anything or enforcing these classes, other than the bartenders. Our stay included a ROMANTIC DINNER with choice of Sea Bass or Steak & Shrimp. We chose the latter. We also get to pick whatever restaurant we want to have it in. It didn't matter which you pick... your 'romantic' dinner is going to be sandwiched between two tables of children. Our stay was supposed to include TURN DOWN service. Of the 4 nights, they did it ONE time. There were several maintenance issues in our room. They did come and 'fix' them quickly, however the fix soon failed on at least one of them. They have a 'food truck' which apparently only serves hotdogs. The dog is much smaller than the bun (which was quite hard), and there's no such thing as a little mustard. It was covered in it, making it impossible to try to eat. CHAIR HOGS. by 930 each morning, you can forget getting a chair. 10 people, but 50 chairs with towels on them. Both at the regular beach as well as the regular pools. Privilege beach had spots, but the water in that area was not very desirable to enter. Beach access looked like it had some nice spots, but water shoes are highly recommended. There are a LOT of stairs. Shows do not begin until 930PM Most of the clientele appears to be either Mexican, or European. Myself personally, I would not return to this resort. There is nothing here that would make me want to return. Would I send a client here? Only if it fit their budget and hit at least a few things they wanted. I do NOT recommend the 'deluxe' rooms. I DO recommend the privilege, unless you enjoy eating buffet for breakfast lunch and at least a few dinners. If you are a smoker - this is the place for you! If you enjoy being around a LOT of people, who have no desire in even greeting you... THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!

    Amazing experience, great for families.

We have thoroughly enjoyed the resort so far, we got the upgraded room (Premium Deluxe). I highly recommend this if you have kids. We have a minibar with pop, beer, and water, BUNKBEDS, and a walk in shower. The buffet has more options (La Brisa) and the Japanese À la Carte is AMAZING and so is the Grill! We went with two young children and the staff were so accommodating. We would definitely come back (but only if we stay on the Riviera Maya side and probably upgrade to Exclusive next time). Marco at the Grill was exceptional, so accommodating. ❤️ We are so thankful that we chose CRM for.our first vacation as a family of four.

Good Vacation but missed not having a beach

Check-in was fast and easy. Rooms We booked a premium room but in my opinion it was actually just a standard room. There was nothing premium about it. The buffet Las Brisas. We ate at this buffet every morning for breakfast and we really liked it. The scrambled eggs with spinach was really good. I had that every morning. The sausage, bacon and the cut up potatoes that were fried with onions and peppers were really good. We also ate here for lunch everyday, there were a lot of selections. Chicken was always tender and tasty. Reserving ala cartes I was able to book every morning. Except for one morning for the ala cartes, it was really easy as long as you knew what you were doing and prepared before 8 o'clock. you want to know where you wanted to go and at what time and you have to do this really fast so that you get in as they book up fast. Japanese We tried it one night. We weren't too crazy about it so we did not go back.It was just okay. Toscano Italian restaurant We went here three times we thought it was pretty good. The cheese dish starter was good and the salad with goat cheese excellent. The chicken was always tender and tasty. The Mexican restaurant We went here 3 times and we thought it was quite good.We really liked the tacos. The Grill steakhouse We went here 4 times and this was our favorite. Especially for the dessert, the apple crumble and the New York cheesecake awesome. The shrimp and potato salad sounds weird BUT it was really, really good. The new york steak, medium rare was good. Burger place We only went one time.We weren't too crazy about it.I had the pulled pork and it was mushy pork on a hot dog bun.It was not good. But the starter potato wedges with everything on it was really good.It was a small portion so don't get 1 to share get one each. This was the only thing we liked, the hamburgers were just OK. The beach and the ocean There is no beach here really, but if you like snorkeling it's really great saw lots of fish all different types. As we really like a good beach, this is the main reason we would not return.
