Angel Montereo, Mayquer Solano, Andres Martinez, Luis bartender just to name a few …. employees are so much fun. We had a wonderful girls trip! They made the trip so fun and memorable! MAJOR COMPLAINT : Food needs major improvement! Most of it is so gross and the buffet is always cold. We had nothing but stomach issues while there and chose to eat very little. We talked to so many people who were also sick from the food. There also needs to be more beach snacks like pretzels, popcorn, etc…. Easy on the go to take to your loungers, especially when the restaurants aren’t open. We’d rather eat lunch on beach with a grab and go, rather than waste our time sitting at a dining restaurant. The dress code is so dumb at the beach restaurants. Aren’t we all there to be at the beach in the water? However, you just can’t walk up to eat breakfast or lunch in your swimsuit without shoes and being covered up. The reservations for dinner are so stupid. The restaurants are rarely full, but reservations are hard to get. I really wished I would have listened to the reviews and picked another hotel. Definitely won’t be back. PROS: The beach is absolutely gorgeous! The employees are so friendly and fun! They always remembero who we were and they always had a smile. We had a blast at the beach bar! Rooms were great and clean, our housekeeper did a wonderful job taking care of us through the week. Weekend housekeeping needs some improvement, we weren’t given wash clothes and enough towels and neither were our friends staying in another building.

Excellent hotel situated in a great location

Excellent location and service Very friendly staff our special thanks to Andres Angel, Juan Carlos Maleteros and our room mate Yeika Pilier. Also, to the staff at the Beloved restaurant for their excellent service. The food in the Asian and Peruvian restaurants could be improved. The hotel could do with some outdoor designated non-smoking areas.

    Girls Trip 2025

Amazing beach and great experience! The only negative thing I can say is that it was difficult to make dinner reservations and some of the restaurant staff were rude. Everything else was wonderful. Angle, Mayquer, Andres, Luis, and Mayo were very accommodating.

    4.5 Love this resort!!!

This is not my second review. I don't know what happened but somehow my previous profile has disappeared. I've been to 25 Caribbean resorts from Antigua, Curacao, St. Lucia, St. Kitt's, Barbados and many other islands. This was my fourth time to the DR and I've never been a real fan. The other couple we travel with like the DR so we agreed to go one more time. This resort has completely changed my mind about the Dominican. Pros: Room key on bracelet. Brilliant!! Check in, so smooth and the front desk was at all times helpful. The room, so well designed, finally!! , so much shelving for all the toiletries stuff, extremely comfortable bed, and a suite of pillows to choose from. The bathroom area ,well designed. The lobby design was really chic and a great place to hang out. Quick response to requests, for extra blankets and hangars. Some room lights would not turn off and someone from maintenance was there within 30 mins. The front door and lobby door was always manned by the friendliest of staff, ready to open the door and say hello. We have always found staff friendly at other DR resorts, but this resort takes it to a whole other level! Kudos to the HR dept, for hiring a whole resort full of lovely, smiling, polite and professional employees, from grounds, maintenance to restaurant staff. Yes, not everyone speaks English, but it was never a problem. I'm going to name a few, but like I said, all the staff we encountered were wonderful. First, 8am had to start with the best cappuccino maker, Jahugel. The sweetest smile and lovely Hola she was very patient and funny with my Spanish attempts! Virna and Dominga(una cervaza con lemon) and Jose Manuel, Raposa at Taino, plus all the hostesses at Taino. Modesto who popped up everywhere, Alex at Sea Blue, Yow, Catherine, Lisbeth, and Iris at Thallassa, We were very nervous about the water, ice and how veg and fruits were washed. We needn't have worried. None of us got sick( 2 people in our group got a 24 hour flu, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the food or water) and all the restaurants, including the huge Taino buffet, (which can't be easy) were immaculate. We found the food all to be very fresh and tasty; Some restaurant dishes were better than others but we enjoyed all the restaurants,(did't get to the Italian). Sea Blue was such a gorgeous spot for lunch on the beach. Thalassa, B'Loved, Swichi all good. There are not many gluten free stuff, like bread, muffins, sweets etc. I didn't care but my husband would have liked a cookie(the ice-cream is fantastic though) Also, some items are listed as gluten free but are not, but as long time celiacs we can easily navigate the menus, and this may be where language could be a problem, but just type in a google translation. The beach is gorgeous!! The colour of the water is crystal clear perfection. Lots of waves to make it fun all day. This beach is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. There are many, many palapas, but if you want a palapa in the third row you have to get there at 7am, earlier if you want the first two rows. The drinks on the beach were really good, which is not typical. Love the Orange Country! The Royal and the Catalonia buildings are all really beautiful, and the extensive grounds are spectacular, probably the most beautiful gardens I've seen, gardeners constantly keeping it maintained. The grounds and buildings are always very clean. There's fun entertainment every night and it's finished by 11pm which is nice. Cons There's only one, but it's a biggie for me and that is the never-ending loud music at the beach(although sometimes sitting out on my balcony which overlooked the adult pool(not the exclusive pool) there were two different soundtracks playing at the same time too, which just becomes noise. The never-ending bass and boom coming from the family beach really detracted from the relaxation. I want to hear the ocean and seaside sounds, not the overly loud games and music from the family side. And just when that got finished, Dreams next door started with even worse music. On the adult beach, in the afternoon, there was usually a lovely performer, sax or violin. The adult beach is sandwiched between the Catalonia family and the Dreams, so there's not much that can be done, but it's a huge detractor for me. One suggestion, please leave black washcloths in the room. I bring makeup wipes but it's still hard not to get makeup on the white washcloths which I really don't like to do. I talked to a British man and he was surprised that there were very few other English speaking guests. I did hear a lot of Brits, especially around the exclusive pool, but it is mostly an Argentinian and Italian and German clientele. Since we were with friends it was not a problem for us, but If you're a couple looking to connect with other English people this might be a consideration. Overall I loved this beautiful resort, with its stunning beach and wonderful staff and I'd highly recommend it.
