Nov 22, 2024Worth a visit
First of all we didn't have great weather the weather was hit and miss and I appreciate no one could had done anything about that. The hotel was very nice the staff were fantastic very helpful and very professional especially in the buffet area the staff were excellent, the accommodation was good very clean serviced every day mini bar stocked daily the only disappointing thing was when we arrived into the accommodation our toilet was blocked which overflowed when the chain was pulled I know this could happen to anyone as it's one of those things but the response time was the next day so over night we were unable to use the toilet which as you can imagine wasn't great, The food was great and there was always a great selection and I especially liked the idea of room service which was available until very late also I liked the idea of using your all inclusive band to open your room door, I also liked the idea of there being a number of restaurants you could choose from which all offered table service which could be booked through the hotel app, the pool area was great the entertainment team were great always something to do (subject to the weather) there were always sun beds available no matter what time of day you went to the pool there was a swim up bar which was nice again the only thing was I do like a beer during the day but the beer they had on tap wasn't to my liking but there was alternative drinks i could of had, one thing i was disappointed with was when booking the holiday with tui they advertised water polo as part of the entertainment schedule but that wasn't available so I had to make do with water volley ball lol the beach was fantastic lovely sand, clean and always sun beds available, the grounds were also very clean this hotel do have alot of staff which all seemed to be very helpful and friendly, In Mexico and probably at all hotels there are coatis which are animals just abit bigger than a cat there were alot of them but they did keep themselves to their selves and didn't cause us no problems at all they were never seen in any eating area and kept away from both the pool and beach areas, overall this hotel was very nice and well worth a visit.

Very basic, average everything. Room was ok but there was something broken everywhere. Lobby is needing new furniture. No alcohol before 11am. Food average. No one got drunk on any cocktails. Found it very OK. Nothing great. Will not return.

Mediocre vacation
Very relaxing resort, but compared to other resorts I feel like this is just an ok resort. I would recommend this resort for a couple that wanted a quick, quiet getaway. The resort was very clean, but we didn’t enjoy the restaurants and it was way too hot to visit in July. By noon the pool was too hot to enjoy.

Just booked for our 12th visit! Realized I didn’t review our 10th and 11th visits. We spent 1 week at CRT in October 2023 and 2 weeks at CRT in April of this year. We continue to choose this resort for so many reasons. The most important ones being the staff and location. The staff are just the best. Always attentive, always polite and kind. Always doing whatever they can to make your stay memorable. Shout out to these staff members that we interacted with and who made an impression on us: Fidencio, Sandy, Argel, Alix, Alejandro, Esther, Julio, Thomas, Roberto, Juan, Aurelio, Luis, Faviano, Freddy and chef Adan at BLoved. The food is consistently excellent. Alex and Juan in the Mexican restaurant. Uriel and Nataly – our room attendants that did an outstanding job every day. Elias and Enedino in the Lobby Bar. Georgina, Ana and Isabel serving drinks at the beach. Rosario in the snack bar. Marisela and Alejandro at the Italian restaurant. Adriana at the front desk. Finally Daniel and Lenis in Guest Services. They are outstanding humans and will do whatever they can for you. Always welcome us with open arms! The beach is spectacular with crystal clear water and beautiful white sand. Snorkeling is pretty good right off the beach. The Rauxa show is amazing with a great menu. The rooms are spacious, clean and each have a private balcony. This resort checks all the boxes for us and we truly feel like it is our second home.

This is the resort for us, we will be back.
My husband and I returned to Catalonia Royal Tulum once again as we really love this resort. We spent ten nites. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room was as we had requested, ground floor with king bed. The app they have to make restaurant reservations is easy to navigate, and I am older so that is important. Restaurants were pretty good, the buffet for breakfast and again for lunch if you choose is quite good, staff is wonderful. Has a great view if you choose the sea side. We also upgraded so had the option of Beloved, which again has a wonderful view and we enjoyed many meals there. The steak house was very good as was the Mexican. Our favorite meal of our 10 days was at the Italian, it was just a perfect evening, staff was lovely and the food was yummy. As far as the hotel grounds, they are kept quite well. Beach is amazing, pool is clean as is all areas around the pool. The walkways within the resort are a pleasure everyday to walk, with a jungle vibe. Location is ideal, for us. Situated between Playa del Carmen to the north and Akumal to the South. Close enough to hop a Collectivo, vans that you can ride for a fee up and down the highway, Also a short walk to a local beach club down the beach that has live music most afternoons, not part of the resort but well worth a visit. Entertainment is quite good on some days and nights and could be better on others. A live Spanish band one night was awesome, we enjoyed that the most. The Mexican night was very good, along with the Mexican buffet that night. The day activities seem to lack luster this year, we would only see this as we have been so many times. There were things to do ie volleyball, aquacize, bingo, yoga and some games but has been more vibrant in past years with some outdoor cooking, fashion show and making guacamole for example... All in all this is the resort for us. Beach is perfect, the water is quiet, no jet skis ....Location is great, staff is amazing, over and over they are so good and helpful. We will be back for sure.
