Your hotel room may turn into Room 101 your worst nightmare
The rooms in this place are small windowless cells, with noisy ventilators, loose sinks, and shower where you hope you won’t be electrocuted by the rather tired heating system. But this is all minor compared to the enormous loud disco that you can feel all night, at least in room 220. And even that could be forgiven if the staff has showed some level a understanding and where not claiming that this was the first night, or that they don’t know it because they work only during the day. The general manager is even worse, as he doesn’t respond to any message at all. Instead, they start to complain that the client was starting to get annoyed by the absolute absence of service. So, avoid this place at all cost!

Do you plan on taking a hot shower or sleeping in on vacation?
If you like to shower or sleep just stay somewhere else. There is no hot water and the cafe downstairs starts playing bass heavy music at 6am loud enough to make out every word. Usually wouldn’t bother to write a review but the owner said some racist stuff about previous guest directly to me. Location is the only thing that makes it jump off the page.

Great hotel
This is a lovely hotel in an old Colonial building, very picturesque. Rooms are fine. A little basic but comfortable. Noisy on the street side. This does make it a great location though. It is also in a decent area. Breakfast is well presented but with only with couple of options to choose from. Gracy on breakfast and Adriana on reception are extremely helpful and kind. I would recommend this hotel.

Great location, tired hotel
You get for what you pay for The good: great location and walking distance from everywhere. Staff goes from 6 to 10...where Gra Cy on the breakfast area is the most friendly... The bad... Entrance through a Cafe and if carrying luggage be ready to carry your suitcases over 20 steps up. My room had two balconies to a very very noisy street during weekends. Facilities are very tired and old... It is clean but all is tired... Even the staff. Once again great location, and breakfast included is a plus but needs major remodelation.

Colonial Basic
I will start this review by telling you that we loved this hotel, but it wouldn’t be for everyone. We are experienced travelers in our 60’s, and loved the simple, basic, colonial style of this hotel... right in the heart of the old town. You have to drag your bags through a coffee cafe and up a couple flights of beautiful wooden stairs to get to the simple lobby of Centro Hotel. The staff will quickly get you situated in your room with a balcony. If you don’t do well with 24 hour city noises, go elsewhere. But if you are like us, and enjoy being in the hub of the action, then your balcony will be your lookout into the wee hours of the morning. The room is cleaned daily with fresh towels, and the sheet and spread made up tightly on the single mattress. There is a flat screen tv, but we didn’t use. The breakfast was included and delightfully served in the light filled eating area above an indoor courtyard. The staff is friendly, helpful, and available 24 hours a day. We look forward to returning to Centro Hotel!
