Just go and enjoy what it is !
When you read all the TripAdvisor reviews you do go starting to look for faults . Arriving tired I did too ,but the welcome from Joshua was fine and he was always helpful . I was a bit worried being led up to my room up a paint stained wooden staircase and initially underwhelmed . The next day a little less tired I had breakfast which offered something for everyone and then I explored . Being right next to Sandy lane beach was fantastic sand and amazing turquoise waters. While the club doesn't have its own beach the sunbathing terrace on the water edges with the beach bar - which was great at night sipping a cocktail and watching the sun going down . The pool areas are really good with plenty of beds . Yes people book them with towels but there are plenty never too far from the pools . The towel voucher is in some ways weird but at night you don't see loads of towels lying around but you do need a bed to leave it on as really only have one towel( can change as often as you'd like )when you hand back before you going you get your voucher back and no fine ! The food is ok and the service is fine . You'll certainly never go hungry and for all inclusive I think is good value. I ate out one lunch. For one with 2 beers, water and 2 courses while very nice was £100!! Back to the club !! Cocktails were great and all branded drinks and huge measures . Sometimes at busy times the bar service was slow and could do with more behind the bar. Some of staff are a bit grumpy but I didn't let it bother me . The room was fine and made up everyday very nicely by Kay . The bed was very comfortable. My tip Just go there to relax and enjoy what the club is - a good 3 star all inclusive in a great location on a lovely island . I think it's well run and always very clean. Don't go looking for faults - yes , you will find them BUT I was on my own and found the resort great value , friendly and had a great break . And yes I would go back ! A wee thank you to Carmella and Sherry who greeted me daily by name ! And too all the nice fellow travellers who were great company . The daily walks were excellent with Geraldine .

Great Barbados chill out!
Recently returned from 2 weeks at the club, had a fantastic time! All areas were very clean, spacious room with maid service every day! Had a couple of minor issues, but these were quickly sorted. The hotel is in a great location with just a short walk to Holetown and bus stops outside. The pools were very clean and sufficient good quality sun beds, when the tide was low you could be on Sandy Lane beach in minutes. Good choice of food available and very well presented especially on the a la carte nights, with a good range of drinks available and variety of entertainment in the evenings! The staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the two girls cooking omelettes and eggs in the morning were very funny 😂 They made a special effort for our 40th wedding celebration meal with our friends, and we were well looked after by Joycelyn. We would love to come back next year, but for the same 2 weeks next year, the price has gone up over 30%, and unfortunately I don’t think I can justify that increase😢

Lots of pros, lots of cons
An overall enjoyable, relaxing stay at Club Barbados. There is lots of room for improvement, with some things seemingly an easy fix, so I thought I’d make a list of positives and negatives from our 11 night stay for a family of four. Positives: - There is a fantastic selection of food and drinks on offer, all of which are of a really high quality. The cocktails were fabulous and I liked the variety of buffet and a la carte dining in the evenings. Barbecue night is definitely a highlight! - Some of the staff are outstanding. Sophia the bartender is sunshine personified, and Justino works incredibly hard and is super polite and efficient. They both remembered our drinks orders within days of arrival! Nikita the omelette-making extraordinaire is also fantastic. These and many more staff deserve recognition. - The location is wonderful and the sea views are amazing, especially at sunset. It’s no problem at all that you have to walk all of 2 minutes to get to get to the beach. - Housekeeping are an outstanding team. Our room was thoroughly cleaned every single day of our stay, and they even folded my pyjamas! - The grounds are lovely, and it was a genuine thrill to spot the monkey family going about their business. Negatives: - The welcome we received from reception staff quite incredibly poor. After a 9 hour flight, we received a very lukewarm greeting and were begrudgingly offered a room temperature rum punch from a visibly dirty flask. Two staff then proceeded to carry our bags to our rooms. I said I was happy to carry one of my bags, to which the staff member bluntly replied ‘just let me do my job, bro’. Rather than feeling excited for our holiday, this whole arrival experience made us extremely concerned about staying at Club Barbados. Thankfully, it definitely wasn’t as bad as I feared it might be, but this was an unacceptable first impression. - Sadly, lots of other staff were also rude and had serious attitude problems. It’s such a shame that some staff, like those mentioned above, work incredibly hard to provide the best experience for their guests, whilst others treat guests with disdain. This seems to have been noted by other visitors in their reviews and the inconsistency in service definitely rang true for us. I can’t understand why management don’t seem to be clamping down on it. - This has been noted in lots of reviews, but the bedrooms are extremely tired and rundown (despite the best efforts of Housekeeping to maintain them). For the price you pay to come here, you deserve better. This is one of the main reasons we feel that Club Barbados’ 4* rating is quite generous. - The rooms are very varied in terms of size. We had two rooms: one on the first floor and one on the ground floor. The one on the ground floor was about twice the size of the rather cramped room on the first floor, despite being exactly the same price. - It is definitely an older crowd who visit Club Barbados. This isn’t necessarily an issue, but it does sometimes feel like a retirement village. We weren’t aware of this before booking, and felt quite out of place as my siblings and I are in our 20s. For the first week of our stay, there really did seem to be nobody else below the age of 50. - The entertainment definitely reflects the average age of guests. The same monotonous, mid-tempo songs play over and over every single night, and there is virtually no other entertainment. On our final night, for about half an hour, there was exciting, interactive music and an amazing woman doing a limbo challenge, but as soon as this had finished it was business as usual and the mid-tempo music made a reappearance. Just a bit more variety would greatly improve things and cater to a wider range of potential guests. - There is insufficient and poorly thought out seating on offer in the entertainment area. It’s fine during the day, but not at night. - Signage around the resort clearly states that it is not permitted to reserve sun loungers, but this is not enforced at all and the vast majority are reserved from first thing in the morning. It is near enough impossible to secure a sun lounger overlooking the sea. The one one day we did manage this, the beds either side of us were reserved by towels all day long without any sign of the owners of said towels. I hope that Club Barbados take the time to read and act upon my review. It has the potential to be amazing, and I really think that some of the negatives of the place would be easy to change. Ultimately, we had a nice time here, but it’s not somewhere that we would return to as things stand.

A lovely break
We have just returned from a 7 night stay at The Club and overall we had a fab time at this hotel. Upon arrival, our booked room was not available for the first night so they put us in a suite for one night, as compensation they gave us 2 vouchers for complimentary spa treatments, however we didn't get round to using these. The next day we were moved into a ground floor garden view room, which we actually preferred. Overall the food is decent, sometimes service could be slow. Enid's was our preference for evening meals, the ladies in there were lovely and the food more traditional caribbean. For lunch we preferred to sit at the beach bar and order from the snack menu. Breakfast could be chaotic, and wait times for water and coffee could be a problem. Most of the staff were lovely, with the odd exception. Drinks were good with premium brands etc. Mojito's were not always available. They will also make cocktails not on the menu. The hotel is in a really good location for exploring and I would recommend if looking for an all inclusive. However, when we return to Barbados we have decided that we would go B&B or self catering as there are so many amazing places to go out for meals and drinks and the island is safe to explore unlike some other caribbean islands.
