Relaxing stay on Melaque beach
Older hotel on the beach in Melaque. We had 2 rooms, one didn't have hot water in the shower. My room's A/C didn't work, so staff moved me to another room which was fine. Beach access was easy and several tables with umbrellas were reserved for hotel guests. Open air restaurant's food was great and they brought food ou to the beach tables. Good cable TV although only CNN was in English. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were noisy-- windows need double panes

A Study in Poor Management
First, the staff could not find our reservation. Then the room choice was either first floor or up two flights of stairs with luggage. The first floor poolside room was in disrepair. Management did nothing to quiet rowdy children at 2am. I would not stay here again.

Not as advertized by Photo
First and second rooms were facing the street very beat. Security latch broken. The second room one towel, Third room overlooking the pool. Great, View of 500 Gal propane tank instead. No pool view. What we got was nothing like what is represented in the advertizing photo.

Happy
We were happy with this hotel. The staff are excellent...Alexandra at the desk, Alma the maid on second floor. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and quiet. Rooms have ceiling fan and AC. and fresh linen and towels etc. The main desk will "save" your passport, money etc. No fridge or microwave but the dining room is pretty and right on the beach and plays music continually. The food is passable. but so many wonderful restaurants everywhere. The hotel is at the far end of town, just past the bus terminal, so is quiet. The ruin next door( held up in a legal battle) did not bother us one bit. Rooster,s across the street for breakfast, lunch etc. is amazing. Very best Thai is across from the bus terminal. Half the town is paved, half is dirt streets. Take tons of pesos as cash dispensers often run out. Wifi works.

we had fun
We had a great time. Our room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. We were on the outside of the hotel and our room was very quiet, the rooms around the pool were very family friendly. Our spanish is limited and we had no trouble in dealing with the hotel staff or the local area. Their staff is highlighted by Oscar. He is a real treasure and a great help.
