    Couples Get Away

If you're looking for a quiet, island vibe/feel for adults only COCOS Hotel is a great choice. WE loved our sunset view cottage. The staff was friendly and very attentive. We felt safe.

You should read this before spending your hard earned money!!

We stayed at cocos for 2 weeks over Christmas and new year and before I get into why I rated this 1 star there were some positives. The beach and setting of the hotel is idyllic. The guys are down raking the sand every morning. The water is clear and warm. The beach bar food was ok for lunch but very slow. The burger and cob salad was good. Now for what I think everyone considering spending their hard earned money on this hotel should know. Firstly the food. Breakfast was ok. The food was just ok. The ladies who served us were nice but sadly the service was disorganised. We didn’t always get what we asked for, if at all. Lunch we mostly ate at the beach bar, as I’ve said this was ok just a bit slow. Evening meal was very disappointing! The soups were probably the best thing about it for me. They rotate the same menu every 7 days. For me, the menu was limited, not enough options and it felt like they were trying to be fancy but it just wasn’t working. Don’t be fooled by the food pictures on the hotel website. It’s not a fair representation of the food. With us staying for Christmas and new year we expected them to make a big deal out of it. Christmas Eve and day felt like normal menu, although we were advised it wasn’t and that it was a special menu, which made me chuckle. We decided to leave the resort for New Year’s Eve and went for a lovely meal at a restaurant in Jolly Harbour. Now for what everyone really needs to know about this hotel. They provide mosquito spray in the room which to be fair is a great touch! I was spraying lots of this every night, because of this I felt it pointless to be spraying nice perfume on top so I wasn’t using it every night. On our last night we had a meal out booked at Sheer Rocks (highly recommend) and I went to use my perfume, it was gone. We turned the room upside down twice before reporting it to reception. The lady who first deal with us was very helpful. She asked for the make and cost of the perfume. Both herself and someone from security also came to look around the room, she said she would report this to the manager and talk to us the next morning. The next morning Kris who I think is the deputy manager came to talk to us. He apologised, said they were talking to the manger of the cleaners. He said they were willing to waive the cost of my massage which did not quite cover what my perfume had cost. He then presented us with a document that he wanted us to sign, no admission of wrong doing, the matter would now be closed and we could not leave negative feedback online. What a joke!!!! Kris did come back to us and then offer to include the massage and the cost of the perfume and to sign the document but this and every interaction with him made us feel like the priority was keeping us quiet and not actually giving a damn about the fact we had been stollen from and finding out who had taken it. We spent thousands to stay at this hotel over Christmas and new year and we were stollen from by hotel staff. I think you all need to know about this before spending your hard earned money. I wonder how many other guests have been silenced?! I have purposely waited a few weeks before leaving this review as on leaving the resort I was very angry and upset, not just about what happened but the way it was handled. The resort markets itself as rustic luxury. It probably was some years ago, now it’s tired and in need of TLC. As for the theft, I have to say in all the places I’ve travelled in the world, this has never happened to me and honestly Kris, you dealt with it appallingly.

Amazing place but be careful about misleading room description on website

We loved the location—set in the middle of nature and perfectly positioned between two stunning beaches surrounded by beautiful scenery. Everything was immaculately clean, and the quality of food and drinks was exceptional, all served à la carte. Truly nothing to fault in that regard. Unfortunately, we encountered a significant inconvenience. We booked a room with a private pool because the website mentioned a "sundeck" offering privacy for sunbathing. While the room did have a deck, it had ZERO sunlight throughout the day, making the pool unusable. We even asked to be moved to a lower-category room with some sunlight, but the staff couldn’t accommodate us. This was especially disappointing as we booked well in advance for our honeymoon, carefully choosing the room based on the website's descriptions, which turned out to be inaccurate. Another small downside is the lack of any daytime activities or sports. Aside from evening singers, there is no real entertainment. We planned to join a water aerobics session listed on the schedule, but no one showed up to lead it. This is definitely a place meant solely for couples looking to relax, but a little more activity variety would enhance the experience.

    Cocos paradise!

A hotel with high levels of service in a splendid location. Simple, rustic rooms as advertised, but never the less comfortable with adequate facilities and with fabulous views from the terrace. Our room had a lovely infinity plunge pool. Food was of a high standard each meal with plenty of variety. House wines were acceptable and the quality of cocktails, spirits and beer, high. Evening entertainment was regular and of a high standard.. The hotel had 2 separate sandy beaches with reasonable sunbeds and shade and were kept tidy each morning. Water sports equipment was minimal, but a private contractor was adjacent to the hotel beach for those who felt the need! There was a lovely swimming pool amongst the palm trees. Staff were warm, friendly and helpful which along with the comments above, made for a wonderful, relaxing stay. Perfect for couples.

    Fabulous experience

Our experience at Coco’s was wonderful from start to finish. The relaxed atmosphere was exactly what we wanted and expected. The rustic cabin was perfect with a fabulous view of the bay overlooking our balcony and plunge pool. The food was fantastic throughout our stay with plenty of variety and first class presentation. Above all else, the biggest selling point for cocos is the staff. Pleasant, accommodating and willing to help out with any request. They are what makes cocos what it is and keeps us coming back.
