Very nice; a little tired.
This is a lovely self contained, all inclusive resort catering for only about 70 guests. Two beaches to choose from, each with a bar. Food was consistently good quality and always cooked to order rather than the “buffet style” of so many other all inclusive venues. The beach grill is great for lunch, but plagued by flies. There are a few little niggles that prevent a glowing five star review. Service is often slow (island time!). An umbrella we asked for was eventually provided three daily requests later. And the empty mozzie spray in the room similarly took two days to be replaced. Dinner wines were not great and only one beer (Carib) available in any of the bars. Cocktails are good though, I recommend the rum punch. You might want to bring a small torch as not all the lights on the steep winding paths work all the time. Rooms are also dimly lit and don’t walk around bare feet as you may catch one of the many protruding nail heads in the floor boards. Bring lots of cash (US$) as many excursions don’t take cards. I read a review saying the snorkelling advertised was non existent and despite many attempts I’d have to agree. Although I’d concede that swells had a lot to do with it, there’s only really one spot under the restaurant with any potential. It was a very relaxed, enjoyable holiday; it’s just, at the price we paid, I expected perfection.
