    Mazatlán es lo Máximo

Costa de Oro is one of the oldest hotels in the city. But even though it’s outdated, it’s still a good place to stay and view the stunning sunset or just listen to the waves at night. We love the Bandas en la playa and all the vendors passing by. Gotta shop local. The restaurant prices are high and not worth it. And el Capi is so rude. We went on our last morning there to the buffet. Nope, not again. The bar prices are also high for what seemed water downed drinks. Shout out to the tour guy, Fidel. Superb service and recommendations. Gracias gracias! The only thing wrong with the room was that the ac was not working properly. Called it in and the technician was sent over. But it didn’t make any difference. We ended up getting another room, with an amazing view. Other than that, everything Mazatlán is highly recommended!

    Poor business practices

I had booked a stay here from mid January to Mid February 2025. Much to my surprise I was billed the entire amount now in June of 2024. I made several calls to the property to have this charge reversed, I was disconnected 4 times, I emailed them , no response. I finally had to call Booking. Com and had the reservation cancelled.

    Wowwwww WATCH OUT!!!

Horrible service! Horrible experience! We paid almost $3,000 pesos for cervezas, SOGGY AND INSIPID nachos. Watch out! Ask what the day pass gives you and allows you to consume before you pay their asking price for VERY LIMITED CONSUMPTION AND SERVICES!

    Mexican ain't welcome

I was a very frequent customer of this hotel, where on previous trips I felt comfortable and relaxed, generally a very pleasant place. In the week of April 8th, I returned but the overall feeling was very different from previous occasions. The employees were no longer as friendly as with tourists from other (obvious) nationalities. The hotel policies were different. And it was noticeable that a national (Mexican) was not the target audience for this hotel. They did a good job with those kinds of practices that, although very small on a large scale, were clearly evident. I didn't feel welcome, undoubtedly ruining my stay at the hotel. (If you are Mexican or appear to be, I do NOT recommend it.) Of the many hotels I have stayed in, I had never felt like a second or third-class guest.

    Upgrading hotel-friendly- helpful staff

Third time I have stayed here-this time for a month and one week visit of 2 of my son’s families. The entire hotel is freshly painted. I stay on 7th floor near elevator to help block street noise-Mazatlan is noisy. Excellent friendly staff-William -Jorge Front desk /Gema housekeeping/Christopher-Jose- Pool activities & yoga/Friendly Security/Life Guards alert/Pool Wait Staff-friendly & attentive/Restuarant Staff did excellent job making my Granddaughter’s 16th Birthday celebration memorable/Grounds keepers constantly cleaning and watering. My family had great vacation here. I get that it is an old hotel so things not perfect but Hotel trying to be at a good price point. Had weekend entertainment on outdoor stage that was nice too—-I will be back
