A welcome return visit after a couple of years , there will be more ….

We had an excellent 2 night stay here while visiting family for birthday celebrations. Definitely now planning a return trip later this year. An attractive upgrade deal was offered to us at check in and we took it . Over the stay we felt it was well worth the extra money. Breakfast buffet was particularly good we felt , with a wide range of choices . I particularly liked that poached eggs were offered as standard as part of the full Scottish breakfast . The haggis was also very good indeed. What was also noteworthy was the friendly restaurant staff . Cheerful , engaging and so helpful , Irene was particularly helpful for us over the two mornings we ate there. Beyond the restaurant every single staff member we came across was keen to help and go the extra mile when needed . Actually the best we’ve encountered in any UK hotel for many years . A superb example of this desire to help is as follows .. I’d had the misfortune to tear a finger nail as I wrestled our heavy suitcase off the train . As we checked in I asked if the bathroom amenities in our room might include a nail file . Our receptionist thought there may be one there but the other receptionist who had been dealing with a separate enquiry had overheard me describe my problem and took the initiative and went and found a nail file and brought it to me . That’s great service and initiative, very impressive work indeed . She’s a great ambassador for Courtyard by Marriott ! We can also highly recommend the cocktails produced at the bar downstairs, these were significantly better than those we had at a 5 star hotel we visited in February.

A Perfect Blend of Location, Comfort, and Warmth in Edinburgh 🌟

Here’s a polished English review based on your notes: --- **Review of Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh** My stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh was nothing short of excellent. The hotel’s **prime location** is its standout feature, allowing guests to **walk effortlessly** to Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks, including the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and Princes Street. Whether exploring the city’s historic charm or vibrant modern attractions, everything felt conveniently within reach. The **spacious and well-designed rooms** provided a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing. Modern amenities, plush bedding, and a thoughtful layout ensured a relaxing stay. However, what truly elevated the experience was the **exceptional service** throughout the hotel. The staff exemplified warmth and professionalism, always ready to assist with a smile. A special mention goes to the **reception team**, who went above and beyond to make check-in seamless and offered insightful local recommendations. Combining **ideal location**, **comfortable accommodations**, and **outstanding hospitality**, the Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh is a top choice for both leisure and business travelers. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

    A wonderful hotel, hidden gem

We do not choose this hotel as it was part of a package for us to attend the Guinness Six Nations Rugby at Murrayfield and it was a lovely hotel. Our room was great, very nice indeed. Large bathroom but let down by a slightly small shower. Also, we could not get the air conditioning to switch off but eventually worked this out otherwise we would have had a cold sleep! The food both dinner and breakfast were first class, drinks too!

    Fabulous Location and Lovely Surroundings

Fabulous deal @ £59.50 pppn on B&B with Bottle of Fizz per room per night when we booked last year through MyHotelBreaks Best part was no weekend supplements. As hotels in Edinburgh especially over a weekend can be very expensive. The deal also had an option of late check out but as we all were travelling back to different parts of the UK After our weekend 2 night stay, we could not take advantage. Hotel is is a great location with so much close by, all transport links are also near by. With both Bus & Train Stations within 5-10 minutes walk and Tram stop for Airport links right outside hotel. The Hotel itself was lovely after recent refurbishment and all our rooms 401/402 & 411 were comfy, spacious and clean. Although none of us were really a fan of the glass walls and doors in bathroom. Bathroom toiletries were also lovely but 2 of the rooms showers , water pressure was quite low. So could have been better and none of our rooms had any biscuits on the tea tray, which is unusual. I did mention this to Reception and was advised, there should have been but still no biscuits appeared. Breakfast on both mornings was good selection and buffet style .Other options were available to order at no extra supplement, pancakes were lovely. Bar could be busy at times and service slow as not enough staff on shift. All breakfast staff were helpful and happy to help. Reception always seemed to be busy during day. Would definitely recommend and return, especially if on this deal again. Also recommend the Indian across road Shezan if looking for food nearby. Food and Service is fantastic

    Girlie wknd

The hotel staff are lovely and really went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. Our breakfast server Ramseyer was such a lovely young lady , remembering drink preference from the day before and getting me exactly the same drink . The breakfast buffet was lovely with a wide variety of choices including made to order choices . I as a vegetarian had plenty of choice both hot and cold food and pastries and fruits . My only issue would be the same with all buffet food, it’s never quite hot enough for me . I thoroughly recommend the buttermilk pancakes . The room was lovely and clean and in a quiet corridor as requested , all the amenities were there that you needed including loving toiletries . I personally found the bed very soft which is ok for me but maybe not others . The bathroom is glass with a gap between the glass so you can hear and see everything going on so make sure you are very comfortable with your room mate . As a group we all agreed the water pressure to the showers was lacking giving a rather poor shower experience . We all agreed that on the whole the hotel was a lovely place to stay and near everything in Edinburgh . Was also fantastic value for money .
