Perfect for first time on-property
My wife and I recently stayed at All-Star Movies around the holidays and really enjoyed it! It was my first time staying on property so I didn't know what to expect, but we had a great time. Staying at one of the more budget conscious resorts might feel like a step down, but Disney still does a fantastic job keeping the magic going. The buildings and rooms are simple, but they are all decked out with characters and themed everywhere you look. I heard the rooms were recently renovated and they were comfortable and very clean. Our only minor complaints was that you could sometimes hear neighbors closing doors or flushing (not enough to keep us up though), and that there wasn't a proper kettle for hot water. If you were spending a lot of time in the room, you might get a little uncomfortable but we were out most of the day. We only ate a few meals in the cafeteria and they were decent. For a lower-tier resort, we were pleasantly surprised. Though I wouldn't recommend eating there every single day, it gets a little repetitive. That being said, my wife has a gluten allergy and they took great care to make sure her food was separated and prepared properly. There were a lot of younger families with lots of kids, but it never bothered us. If you were looking for a quieter / more mature stay, this might not be it for you. If you've never stayed on property, I'd highly recommend any of the All-star resorts. They're very similar and are all located right next to each other. These resorts are located by Animal Kingdom, so Magic Kingdom is about 20 minutes aways. There are buses up front that shuttle to all the main parks as well as Disney Springs.

Good value with all the Disney perks
Staying on site is a must for us these days. Early entry despite only being 30 minutes is a good bonus and sets you up for the day ahead of regular day guests. We stayed in the mighty ducks area which is great as you are very very close to the all star music food court and bus stop so we used those 90% of the time. The room itself was looking a little tired on the floor and the skirting despite the fact they have not long been refurbished. However the bed is comfy and it's relatively cheap! Sound proofing was not good at all however and some days could hear guests having a shower or using the toilet above at 0530. In future I'd request the top floor to avoid this. Cannot fault the buses which were very frequent. As always with disney even in a value it was spotlessly clean and a beautiful. Resort to walk around. Would stay again for sure, definitely request mighty ducks!

Two Disney Dingalings Having Fun!
The resort was very accommodating - clean & well kept. Our room was updated and very nice. The staff was very helpful. The food court is close & sells a variety of items for everyone. The bus system to the parks was never a long wait. Overall- It’s Disney!! 😊

Convenient…..
Booked to stay a week trough Virgin Holidays, though our flights being with Delta via Atlanta out and JFK coming back, there was nothing Virgin about our trip…. 4 adults and 2 very tired kids arrived to a typical Disney welcome at an almost empty reception at around 22.30 and by the time we were checked in and had our park tickets issued, we got to our rooms in “Mighty Ducks” just gone 23.15. Didn’t get adjoining rooms as requested, far from it as the 2 rooms were in separate blocks🙈 Not the ideal start and being quite tired after a long day travelling, we just requested if poss, to be moved to adjoining rooms ASAP which happened the very next day😁 The rooms were clean and comfy, plenty of fluffy towels and toiletries, a fridge and a coffee maker. Food wise, the restaurant was to canteen standards at best but with small portions at captive audience prices….. We chose to Uber food in most evenings and stocked the fridge with juice, brekkie/ snack stuff and some “beverages”. The “complimentary” bus service to the parks worked very well for us, almost every trip and defo every morning, there was good banter with complete strangers and all manner of “characters” you would expect to meet on a Disney resort bus going to a Disney Park. We managed to get in the Mighty Ducks pool a couple of times only to be told off on both occasions for throwing the kids about in an almost empty pool🤷♂️Rules are rules….. The hotel and grounds were very well kept and the atmosphere at any given time felt to me like it was a happy one. All staff encountered were courteous and helpful. Cost wise, don’t think it worked out any better staying here rather than renting a villa/car but it was certainly a convenient option.

Great place for a family
We have been to Disney multiple times. We have stayed at Port Orleans each of those time. The All-Star Movies Resort was terrific for our family of 11. Rooms were more than adequate, food court was very good and the transportation to the parks was the best we have ever experienced. The front desk people were very kind and gracious. When we return, the All-Star resort will be where we choose to spend our time.
