OK trip but probably won't visit again
Room: Oceans 1 BD Suite on 4th floor. Nice room with separate living room with full kitchen and separate bedroom. 2 Separate sinks and 2 separate showers. Also, a washer and dryer. You can separate pods at the grocery store on site. Sad part is they did not replenish shampoo and lotion even when requested. Towels were taken some days but not replaced. Bedding was only changed once in 7 day stay and that was day 2. Housekeeping was a joke and not much was done. When checked in light bulbs burned out and 1 TV remote was missing. They showed up with remote that was wrong and said they would come back on Monday and fix lights. They never showed up. TV channels was a joke. 6 stations in mornings and 8 at night is all. Heard from others they got a few more. Great view from balcony. Full kitchen with coffee pot. Buy a container of coffee at grocery store also. Fridge came with 2 each of water, diet coke, coke and sprite. That will not be re-stocked so always ask for some at night to take back to room. Resort: Laid out nice. Infinity pool and pool by sea breeze restaurant were too cold to stay in. Main pools were nice. Hot tub was not very hot though. Seemed cloudy also. People claim chairs early and yet never show up for 3 hours. I hate rude people like that. I think some claim pool chairs and then claim beach chairs and umbrellas at same time. They have plenty of beach chairs but do run out of umbrellas. Beach is very nice. No weeds or rocks. Ocean temp is as nice as the pools. Make sure to check bill good at checkout. Had 2 charges for tips and drinks. I always tipped in cash. They never argued and took them off. Signing for meals and drinks when you are all inclusive is a pain. But half of people there are not all inclusive. Many are time share owners who are there 2-4 weeks at time. Staff was mostly nice. Some were slow and didn’t seem happy especially Omelet guy. Excursions: Resorts concierge is worthless. All they want is to get you to take time share presentation and get discounted excursion. Must get big pay for getting you to go. Downtown by resort is same o same o. If you want jewelry you will love it there on downtown shop area. 75% of stores are Jewelry stores. Went to French side on Wednesday for market day. Just plenty of same o stuff. The boardwalk area had some nice places to eat and drink though. Best thing we did is go to taxi stand on resort and hire a driver for Island tour. Our guy was great and explained history and Island very good. Takes about 3 plus hours and charged $140. I gave $30 tip also. Well worth it to us. Message me if you want his number. From the resort, you can walk to Fort Amsterdam. Worth the walk up the hill. Drinks: Top shelf liquor and they poured very stiff drinks. Plenty of beer selection also. Wine was decent for a resort. Now the island drinks were not the best. The flavored drinks just lacked flavor. They did seem to run out of diet coke in some bars and had it at others. If you wanted coffee after 11 AM you were out of luck unless you had coffee pot in room. Food: Pure Oceans was simple breakfast buffet with egg station. Usual stuff and same every day. Adequate but lack variety and freshness. At night, they had theme nights. Not very good. For an island limited seafood and fish offered. And what was offered was bland. Seabreeze: Best food on resort. Must call for reservation. Had great snapper and calamari and they offer food served on a lave rock that cooks at your table. Unique. Get the soup that is offered. It is very good. Noon till 3 has bar food that is decent. Pizzeria: Good pizza but they only cook what they offer. They do not go off menu for adding or deleting ingredients. Open till midnight which is nice. Will put in box so you can take to room. The Shack: Good Mexican food. Shrimp fajita I would recommend. Wings are breaded. Sadly, the fish taco’s use breaded fish. Chips and salsa was what I call nachos. Gizmo’s: Day time and also beach service is decent bar food. Order the fish sandwich and leave the bun off to get grilled Mahi Mahi. At night, they have skewers. Plenty of food on skewers. Coconut shrimp was good. Pork ribs had good sauce but tough. Busiest place at night as games and entertainment was here nightly and some afternoons. Fort Amsterdam Coffee shop and Mix at Oceans were not used as they charged all inclusive there. Final thoughts: St Maarten is a very safe place. But it lacked places to see and experience. As explained they grow and produce nothing. They are 100% dependent on tourism. 3-4 cruise ships arrive daily. Many Air BRB’s and many houses owned by part time people. Weather had little showers in morning that did not last long. Would have been nice to have less breeze. I will probably not go back as plenty of other islands to visit. To me Aruba and Bahama is nicer.

Great resort, friendly staff!
Great resort!! Will be returning. Super nice location, sprawling resort. Cruise ships dock just across the bay! Fantastic views. Food was good. Wifi was a bit slow would be our only negative. Lush grounds,’pools well maintained. The roof top bar The Mixx was a treat. Fantastic views up there of the resort and the waterfront sunsets.

Disappointed trip
The review listed regarding the disappointing services with management is so true. I have owned at Divi for over 15 years and since the new general manager has taken over the services are getting worse. I'm beginning to wonder if she even cares or understands what customer service is. While we continue to pay our increased maintenance fees we continue to lose services We not only had to get up by 700 am for umbrellas, which are supplied by the hotel not the Beach staff, we had no TV services so could not get any stations for the football games or even news from the states . In addition when checking in on Saturday we didn't have one towel or toilet paper we had to request this and the front end manager had to find some for us. How do you set up a room for occupancy with nothing in the room. Absolutely uncalled for at a fine resort such as Divi Since the general manager has an extension in her contract I'm very concerned about what will be taken away again I just want to let people know before they get there and are disappointed
