Second time at Dreams BH, pros and cons

This was our family's second visit to Dreams BH - our first trip was in 2023. This time we went back with our friends who also had similar aged kids (9 to 11). All in all a great spring break trip with a few small hiccups/learnings from the second time around. This trip we booked a Preferred Club Partial Oceanview Room, 2202. This was great from the perspective of being closer to the front of the resort and on the lobby level (the beaches and pools only 2 floors down) so no need to take the elevators unless visiting the upper level bars. I think the location of the room is the only real advantage of the Preferred Club, since it doesn't get you really anything else (more below). However, compared to the Preferred Club Panoramic View Room (2317, and 2310 is what our friends got this time) we had a couple of years ago, I would not spend the additional $ to get the Partial Oceanview. In fact, our room was only 2 rooms up from the Suite that on the very end, which for 3 nights of our stay ended up to be a party room - which was very frustrating for the "family" side of the resort. We called concierge the one night that it was very loud and they did nothing about it and did not seem to care when I followed up with the front desk the next day. This was the worst part about our stay was the lack of attention by the resort management to this - likely because they make more money out of renting out that suite. So - stick with Panoramic view. Preferred Club is not really a perk, people walk in and out of the Preferred lounges and it did not get you anything additional at the restaurants. Some people seemed to get a swim tote bag but we didn't. Check-in was supposed to be more tailored but we were behind a large family group that took forever and the check-in desk seemed flustered and just gave us our room instead of giving us a tour and room check like the last time. The waterpark area was fantastic for the kids and generally service and food were great. Waterpark was primarily the reason we went back and wanted to try with our friends. Food was better on some nights than others (don't go late to the restaurants, the quality was less consistent when we sat after 7:45) but the baseline was generally good. Teen club (video game booths) and pickle ball was a great diversion for the kids as well to occupy them for evening drinks/dinner for us parents. Boogie boarding and sand castle building was down to the right of the resort beach (in front of the other resort) - short walk and never crowded. It would be great to have a family friendly sports bar (kids have to watch through the windows in the lobby when most of the time the inside was empty) and still have no idea why hibachi tables are 12+. Our kids were disappointed by that even though we knew that it was the case.

    PV with family

could use some outside bars/restaurants with a view.....lacking ambience that we find at most all inclusive resorts. The buffet had fewer options than most resorts. The food was above average, would like to see some more dining options for Dreams customers. To much constant upselling from the sales staff, got annoying after a couple days.

Not bad, not great...but Mexico is beautiful so it's hard to be too mad!

The marketing photo on the website is a bit misleading. Directly next door is a large, noisy construction site, not a lush jungle. The beach is extremely rocky in front of the property as well. The food is very decent, especially at the specialty restaurants. The staff is lovely and friendly. If you want a relaxing quiet resort, this may not be the best one as they play terrible techno beat music all day long, sometimes two different playlists from competing spots on the property. The weather is so great and the sun is always shining so it's hard to complain when you're in Mexico!

    Awesome and excellent experience!!

Amazing stay. Food was excellent. Buffet was incredible. Staff were friendly. Our daughter had a great time. Water park was also an added bonus. Overall I would recommend this to any family with kids or a couple wanting a “top shelf” vocation. We will be going to another Dreams resort next spring break !
