Every Trip to Dreams is Memorable - Dec 2024 Was No Exception!
The Dreams Huatulco is always an amazing experience. The resort, beach and most of all the staff is beyond anything we could ever ask for in a holiday. We have been to Huatulco 4 times and it is always amazing. The Dreams makes the experience a seamless experience and we always leave looking forward to our next visit. The resort boasts beautiful pools, amazing restaurants and an incredible beach front/ocean access. If you are looking for a family destination with an all inclusive option, this is your place. Now the most important part - the staff. Every staff member at Dreams goes up and above and genuinely cares about their guests. We wanted to recognize the following staff: The preferred club on the beach took care of our family all week and especially Alvaro and Sandy. Alvaro and Sandy became part of our family for the week and were so unbelievably generous and caring - these two made our stay so amazing. We are so grateful for both of you and can't wait to see you in 2025. The staff at all the restaurants (Himitsu and Seaside/Oceanside and World Cafe) were unbelievable. I want to recognize the following people at Himitsu who made us feel so special - my good friends Diego, Gio, Ana, Elda, Leonel all made our dinners so amazing. The special Mexican coffee on our last night was outstanding and we truly loved every meal experience. The pool, beach and serving staff took care of our kids and were always so accommodating. The following people made our days so special and we wanted to make sure they were recognized for their amazing energy, hard work and genuine kindness to our family: Eddie, Elvis, Jesus, Kaio, Yahir, Carlos, Crisimo, Eurofriscima and Mario. These servers all made our stay memorable and we really hope we get to see everyone in 2025 when we return. We wanted to recognize the bag, bell and hospitality staff who got us safe rides all over the area, helped us with all our luggage and met us with amazing smiles and a handshake every morning: Alezar, Erik and Daniel! Thank you so much for watching over our family. Staff makes these experiences memorable and Dreams Huatulco has the most amazing staff. Thank you so much for watching over our family. -The Niehaus's

Will not be coming back unless accessibility and food & heath safety improves significantly
A 3.5 would be a more fair rating but I am aware that I could be a bit picky so adjusting it to 4 just in case. Here are the highlights: (+) Most staff are attentive and you could tell that they work hard. Although, if compared to other hotels such as RIU in PV, it’s night and day. I would love to say thanks to many but I could only recall the names of the two staff who worked at the beach without whom my stay there would be zero enjoyable: Alvaro and Sandy. MASSIVE THANK YOU TO BOTH! Both were easy to connect with and they truly anticipated our needs! They went out of their way to ensure a pleasurable stay. (-) Some servers (male ones - I didn’t catch their names) were attentive and pleasant until I refused to share my phone number with them, after which they pretended I didn’t exist. Super unprofessional. The biggest turn off was that some servers were sick and coughing. They were not wearing masks or covering their mouths; instead, they coughed directly at the tables, food and silverware. Yes, my companion and I both now sick and coughing. Masks should be mandatory for those dealing with food and those who are sick should be getting paid sick days - I blame the company for their lack of awareness, training and likely employee benefits around this. (-) I believe that it is the way food, beach and entertainment is organized that makes it not amazing for customers and adds unnecessary work for the staff. The endless check-ins and lineups were annoying. I would have preferred to wear a bracelet instead of having to give them my unit number and last name every time I wanted a meal. (+) When staff noticed a person with a walking cane or a walker, they prioritized entry, which was very nice. You could tell the managers there were really trying their best. At the same time, guests should know to not occupy the ONLY 2 designated handicapped spots. (-) There was a lack of shade available both at the beach and at the pool. Some locals were reluctant to move to make room for the elderly or those with disabilities and staff did not feel comfortable dealing with the guests. Worrying about my elderly mother getting a shady spot and a chair was not how I wanted to start every day on my vacation. (-) The food was 3 out of 5. For two nights, there was no fish or vegetarian options available at their main buffet. Twice I picked up pizza that was clearly spoiled. Some food was reheated and not freshly made. There was barely any fruit. (+) Their coffee bar had excellent coffee and smoothies and really friendly staff. (+) The little reef at the end of the beach was the highlight of my stay! So many types of fish, crab, shells! There were tons of birds, butterflies, and iguanas to gawk at. Loved it! (-) A current brought in some baby jelly fish, which stung some unknowing guests. There should be a warning somewhere. The welts are painful and all their first aiders had was vinegar to neutralize the proteins. (+) The entertainment team was great. I have never seen a team of dancers so versatile! Well done!!! They performed every day at our hotel and then off to the neighbouring Secrets. Where they got their energy to dance so much and learn so many different choreographies I don’t know. Very impressive and I hope they get paid really well. (-) The music for the hour of entertainment was waaaaay too loud! Entertainment itself, including sound quality, stages, costumes and location was really poor. I was bored to death. There was barely any music around the pools and when they played something, it was spa music or Xmas songs - none matches the vibes of a vibrant beach vacation. Without music or nice decor, the hotel felt boring and their dining places felt like school cafeterias. (+) Their beach is nice and clean. The water was always warm and swimmable. (-) If you have mobility issues, the waves on most days make it hard to walk into the water. There is also a big drop close to the shore so if you can’t swim at all, the beach may not be for you. If you’re using a wheelchair, you won’t access the beach at all - the ramps lead to stairs and staff basically need to catch you as you jump onto the sand. Super unfair to anyone with mobility issues and the staff! - - - I again want to extend my heartfelt thanks to most of the staff that I ran into who showed me respect and tried their best to accommodate a picky guest like me and my companion who has mobility issues. I truly hope that Hyatt invests more into training their staff around flirting and especially around food and health safety. Hyatt is a massive rich company, and there is no excuses for their lack of properly trained staff, accessibility accommodations, or fresh food. It’s a really nice spot and I would love to come back if food safety, health-related items, and accessibility improves.

A week in Huatulco
Just came back from Dreams Huatulco. Me and my fiancé (as of last week) had a great time. Good food and rooms nice and always stocked with snacks and drinks. No issues with the cleaning staff. All the staff was amazing, but our favourite staff member was Luis with the entertainment team! Super fun and outgoing with a smile on his face. Always doing something for people to enjoy themselves a bit more. Calvin & Megan.

Repeat Visit
This is our second visit to Dreams. We had a large ocean front room with a spacious bath. Housekeeping was very good and the room was always well kept and the amenities stocked. This property has six pools so you could always find a place to swim. We saw more people heading down to save chairs this year, some as early as 5:30 am. Unfortunately, some people ‘saved chairs’ and then didn’t use them for several hours which was unfair to other guests. The beach and ocean area is quite accessible. This year we experienced a couple of days when the ocean was quite rough and some large waves hit the beach. There are palapa’s on the beach, however, some have been removed over the last year. Hopefully these will be replaced as there is a need/desire for shade. There is no need for reservations for the al a carte restaurants which is really nice. You can decide each day where you want to dine. The Hyatt App was very helpful with managing your restaurant decisions and your activities. The staff work very hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. If there is anything you want, just ask.

Another good trip to Dreams at Huatulco.
The rooms and resort are clean and staff are very kind and very helpful. I found the resort is a bit aging, but some maintenance is happening, so that is helpful. Gennaro in the preferred lounge and Sandi at the preferred beach were our two favorite employees.
