Good, bad, and other…
The staff at the resort are phenomenal. Truly lovely. I really enjoyed the conversations shared and my interactions with the grounds’ keepers. They know all the good info. One took me to see a family of sloths on the property and helped me obtain an amazing photo. However, the resort itself is lower tier of the all inclusive. It is partially under construction, but in need of major updating. In my room, the outlets didn’t work if the lights were off so I had to leave a light on overnight to charge my phone. The mini bar was soda and water with a few beers, no other alcohol, and the fridge was iced over. The condensation dripped a puddle on the floor from the vents. Restaurants were not always open and some nights only select ones were available. The fish and seafood was outstanding and the breakfast was great, but the rest of the food left A LOT to be desired. However, I mention again that ALL staff were incredible in every way. A big issue that needs to be corrected and guests should be informed of BEFORE arrival is that Google maps has a mistake and directs you to Burunga which is almost an hour away from the resort, inland, and a favela barrio. I arrived at night and the Uber led me there and my very kind driver figured out the error-the same listing and includes resort photos and everything but the route is to a very rough area nowhere near a resort. This was very unsettling as I am a solo female traveler arriving at night and my Uber driver was AMAZING and ensured my safety and my arrival (on his own time because of Uber issues on updating the ride) and tried to refuse my payment. Needless to say the Panamanian people were very warm. The room at the resort was a bit worn but still very comfortable, just freezing cold and a bit worse for wear. Adjustable temperature but understand that it must remain at a certain temperature to avoid other issues-humidity related. It was not full and bustling which was actually nice for me personally. A bit more quiet. However, this is likely for some of the reasons discussed herein. The beach is not for swimming as the water is rough and it’s not one of the picturesque white sandy beaches, but it’s still beautiful and wonderful to walk and find shells. The sunrise is worth the early wake up. Would I stay again? Honestly I don’t think so. The resort needs to work on a few things and I do feel I paid more than what I received in comparison to other all inclusive resorts. I loved the people, workers, staff, so much I would love to say I would return, but honestly it’s unlikely, which does make me sad.

Minor issues; would go back
Having never been to an all inclusive before, this was an enjoyable experience. We were never able to utilize the resort app to order room service or any of the such. When I attempted to schedule a spa treatment, using the coupons that came with my package, they attempted to get me to sign up for a time share discussion. That was disappointing. There were a variety of dining experiences and for the most part they were enjoyable. The food was good; however the temperature of the food on the buffets was not as hot as would be expected. It was hit or miss with the alcohol, some were very strong and some were very weak. Not a lot of consistency. The staff everywhere were always very pleasant and helpful. The grounds were well kept and even though there some areas that have signs of wear and tear, considering the physical environment of the ocean and tropical weather, the resort as a whole was beautiful.

Disappointing
The rooms were very cold and if we tried to lower air conditioning we got condensation of the floor, making it very slippery. Everything has to be scanned--activities, restaurant menus etc. Would much prefer they post it somewhere. Night activities were lame--a movie, kerioke.

Playa Bonita our home away from home
We have been to several resorts. Dreams Playa Bonita is definitely one of our favorites. Every room has an incredible ocean view. The staff is one of their biggest assets. Make sure to stop by the preferred club pool bar and say hi to Eric. He makes a great mango tango. Gino in the preferred club lounge makes a tasty espresso martini. Take time for a 90 minute massage with Luce. You won’t be disappointed. Our whole experience at the resort is one for the record books. We look forward to our return trip in the future.

Not for groups wanting to party
Hotel was nice however appeared to be understaffed. Bars closed early and there wasn’t very much entertainment and only one place for breakfast and one for lunch which caused long lines. Hotel would be more catered to couples instead of groups.
