Best trip yet
We have gone to 5 different resorts so far and this one is at the top. The rooms were clean and beautiful! The resort has been well-maintained and updated. Pools were clean, staff was attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. And there was an actual hot tub! Entertainment crew, wait staff, and spa workers did a great job engaging guests and helped to make the entire trip memorable and enjoyable. We can't wait to come back!

We would not recommend/return
I’ll preface this by saying we actually got married at Dreams Riviera Cancun nearly 9 years ago. I remembered it being a good experience, and we thought we’d come back with our now 3 year old son. Our experience this time was more disappointing than anything. NEGATIVES: Loud Noises: The room was right off of the main pool area and directly across from an ice room/hotel staff room. The noise was absolutely unbearable and made sleeping any earlier than 12AM impossible. You could hear everything going outside of the door which had constant activity and traffic. The staff had these carts going in and out of the staff room that were so loud, they actually woke me out of a sleep several nights. The loud weddings/parties blared until 10PM, and we could hear every song very clearly. It was the opposite of relaxing. Music started at 8AM. Food: Pretty gross. The food was not fresh, didn’t taste good and was obviously prepared maybe even hours ahead of when it was actually consumed. The best we could do for fresh food was the omelette station at the buffet or the hibachi table at Himitsu. The food was also contaminated - I pulled paper wrapping from the rice in the Preferred guests lounge. During our last night we ordered room service after a very long day at Isla Mujeres, and I accidentally swallowed a sharp fragment of toothpick that was in the spaghetti bolognese (which I had actually ordered for our toddler but he didn’t eat). I then checked the rest and found a second fragment. Thankfully I was okay, but that was scary - don’t make my mistake and carefully check/chew your food while you’re here! I ordered a salad at Seaside Grill without the goat cheese and someone had just plucked them off the plate because they forgot a couple small pieces. Plunge Pool: We thought it would be nice for our son to enjoy. The pool was freezing, in full shade and we didn’t use it once. Even though it was around 80 degrees during the day, it was far too cold to enjoy. The other pools were also cold - the ocean was actually the warmest water to swim in. Drinks: Very watered down, a lot of the time I could barely tell I was having an alcoholic drink. The bloodies/micheladas were downright terrible. POSITIVES: -The resort itself is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained, the room didn’t have any glaring imperfections. -Staff were exceptionally friendly, and our interactions were all super pleasant. -Housekeeping: attended to requests very quickly (we asked for extra pillows, towels, cleanings). Overall, we won’t be returning to Dreams Resorts. We paid $5,000 for five nights and this kind of experience was just not worth it. It’s crazy this hotel can be considered 5 stars.

Great resort! Very happy!
We were an extended family group of grandparents, adults and kids 7, 10, & 10 from various Canadian cities. The resort is a great size - not too large - we could always find each other. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. A plus is that the infinity pool looks over the beach and the ocean - that is a rare find. We loved dining at the two seaside restaurants, but also really appreciated the poolside take out. Activities were fun for adults and kids alike (KEVIN did a great job his first day of aquasize and helping kids with keychains). All the restaurants were fantastic! Lots of choice there! Concierge VIDAL was so helpful with information on a local cenote that would be good for the children and we had an awesome time! What a unique experience! He also arranged for a taxi with local driver Lily who stayed with us all day. We walked into Puerto Morelos several times along the beach - about 30-40 minutes one way, depending on if you have kids with you or not. It is nice to get off the resort and see the “real” Mexico. We also went snorkeling with Pelican Tours, right from the beach in front of the resort! MICHAEL & CHRISTIAN were excellent and since there was just us with them, they were able to tailor the outing for newbies and children and we all felt safe. We saw turtles and lots of fish! I would recommend DREAMS RIVIERA Cancun to friends for sure!

Six out of five stars
If we could leave six stars, we would. Our experience here was phenomenal. The resort is lovely, it's beautiful, it has everything you'd want and everything is in great condition. The best part, though, was the service, which was more cheerful and eager and courteous than anything we'd ever experienced.

Great Service in Paradise
Vidal,at the concierge's desk, helped us with a dinner reservation that we did incorrectly on the hotel app. He was effective, efficient, friendly, and above all, he fixed our problem! Great service in paradise--it doesn't get any better!
