Tip your waiter, cuz they deserve it.
I could write a review about the whole resort… but I want to write a review about our restaurant experience at Bordeaux. The food was the best we’ve had all week and Eleuterio our waiter was the best. Attentive, kind, perceptive. Awesome guy. Deserves a raise. I will say that this resort must do a great job at making sure the staff are taken care of, because everyone seems very happy. 😃

My 60th birthday
Service was incredible food was great and if you have a chance go to the preferred pool and look up Jose’ Felix and Rosendo. They made our time there so incredible. Mardo at the Bluewater grill and Eleutoro at Bordeaux went above and beyond. Also the rock show and tacos in the lobby were over the top. If you want to party late into the night you need to check out the sports bar

Rooms and Amenities
The resort was absolutely lovely. Our room (930) was always so clean and tidy. Sandra, our housekeeper, did a wonderful job each day and always had a positive attitude. We were in building nine of the resort. The room always smelled fresh and had everything we needed every day. Thank you, Sandra!

Spring break 2025
Jacinto from El Patio is the best. 5 star service from him. Resort is great for kids. Food is above average and service is immaculate. Will come back for sure. Pool is huge and there’s always something for the children to do, including the water slides — which we did every day

You can make the best of it- but you shouldn't.
This is an honest review, and I will preface it by saying that we made the best of it and had a good time, but I would never book this resort again. First, this resort is a 3 star at best. To call it a 5 star is honestly a little funny. Here is our take from our family vacation with ages 40, 38, and 7yo twins: Location: it is far away from everything with a long road to get to it. This part we loved- we don't like leaving the resort so it wasn't a problem and I liked how it was far enough from the hustle and bustle of Cancun. Resort Grounds/Buildings: Maintenance has not been done on this place for a while. There's areas that look like an actual dump- (like the side of the spa which we had a view of from our room) and things were falling apart. Our slider door handle completely came off and although the AC blew cold it made a sound that resembled someone rattling the door handle so I woke up constantly in a panic. Pool/Beach/Waterslides: The pool was nice, however, if you didn't wake up before 6am to claim a chair you would not get one. Some families would claim 10 chairs with kids floaties and the resort staff did nothing about it. The beach was completely covered in seaweed which I know they cannot control, but they could at least try to clean it up. Waterslides were the saving grace for our kids- they absolutely loved that part and there weren't long lines at all. Food: This was by far my biggest issue. To be fair, we are foodies, but I can also eat pretty much everything and this food was barely palatable. The buffet breakfast was a bust aside from the omlette station, and the only decent dinner restaurant was Portofino. Bordeaux seems to be the most popular (we had a 2hr wait time) but I am not sure why. I ordered clams rockefeller for an appetizer and it ended up being undercooked bay scallops covered in burnt cheese. There is nothing French about that restaurant- French people should be offended by that notion. Barefoot Grill by the pool had some great wings and mac n cheese for the kids- that was probably the best food we had here. To sum it up- if this is your first time at an all inclusive you will likely love it and have a great time. If you have experienced an actual 5-star resort before you will be hugely disappointed. It is possible to make the most of it like we did, but I would never book or recommend this resort to anyone ever again. It has actually tainted the Dreams name in my opinion, and I will look outside of the Hyatt chains in future because of it.
