    Relax or Read and Repeat

Tucked away from the busy beach and pool area (accessible by pedway) we love the Granada. Our room is clean and comfortable. The warm pool is relaxing without the loud music and energetic activities. The staff here treat you like family. They work hard at their jobs and do it with a smile n their face always offering a happy greeting anytime of the day or evening. The entire staff deserves recognition for their service to guests. Thanks Manager Daniel and ALL who work at the Granada.

    Buyer beware!

I am very disappointed to have to write a negative review. We arrived on Jan 18th and were "upgraded" to the El Cid Castilla. We were told several reasons of why we could not stay at the Granada "pipes, painting etc". If I wanted to stay at the Castilla, I would have booked there. To put this in perspective, I only booked two weeks in advance. If the hotel knew they were doing upgrades to the property, they should not have allowed one to book at the Granada. Even while staying at the resort, we could go the El Cid website and continue to book the Granada. I am extremely unhappy with the Management and hotel to allow this to happen. I just felt that others needed to be aware of the possible change in hotel that you book, and not truly be given an honest reason as to why one may be forced to "upgrade". I have previously stayed at the El Cid Marina Mazatlan and really enjoyed it! When choosing the Granada, we wanted a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Being "upgraded" to the Castilla was not quiet and relaxing!

This hotel did not meet expectations

I just returned from a seven day all inclusive stay at the Granada El Sid. Things you must know before go. They will charge you an extra $15 per night of your stay. This is deceptive since it is not clearly stated on their website 😕. I was deciding between this and another hotel but went with Granada because it was cheaper, with this additional cost the other hotel would be a better deal. The Access to all hotels on the property is limited.😕 I could use the pool and get drinks at the Muro but not food! Yo will have to buy food there. You can view the Marina Hotel but even with all inclusive, you will have to buy your food and drinks there.☹️ The Granada is quite and dated. There are no activities there.☹️ I was removed from the hot tub at the Muro that is not included in my all inclusive stay.😕 The nightly shows were good but mostly in Spanish so it is different to understand what is going on. There was Karaoke some nights. There is no disco, no music for dancing. That was disappointing ☹️. The food was ok, but often cold. For the specialty restaurants. It was hit or miss. We went to the Japanese Restaurant twice once it was ok the other time it was terrible. The food was cold and tasteless. My friend lost a hoodie from inside the drawer in his room and another guy lost his shoes. The staff were not very helpful 😞. They suggested that he may have left it elsewhere and took no responsibility 😕

    EL Cid Granada- just ok.

The El CID Granada is a quaint quiet retreat. No lineups for tables or Buffett. Always chairs at the pool..You are steps away from the sister hotel and beach at the Costilla. We were there from Dec 22-28. Positives- clean hotel and rooms. Quiet pool and eating area. Having the busier hotel, large pool and beach across the road with full access was great and gave you more choices. Kitchenette in room was handy. Friendly front counter on check in/out. Negatives- rubber sheets on the beds. I don’t know if I have ever seen that before? Buffett staff were not friendly and definitely catered more to locals than English speaking guests. Having to pay for the water bottles in the room was odd to me when you are all inclusive. We felt safe in the area and enjoyed walking in the area. There was an excellent grocery store a block away to get munchies etc. There is a Starbucks near by with hammock chairs in an open porch to sip coffee in the evening and watch the activity. We would stay here again but would check out the EL cid across the street.

Nice property. Quieter than El Cid El Moro across the street

UPDATE: The same day I wrote this the manager Daniel found me and let me know that I should tell an employee and they would deal with it. He was very nice and seemed sincerely concerned. We’ll definitely come back! Im at El Cid Granada currently. We're owners but have never stayed at Granada before. It's a little bit older and across the street from the beach but it's nice and the pool is quiet and relaxing. I thought smoking was banned in public so l'm disappointed that it's not enforced. The upper rear pool area allows smoking, but people are smoking right behind me now in the lower level. I have asthma and what is becoming bad reactive airway and the cigarette smoke is literally causing pain in my chest.
