    Just like family

El Cid is a fantastic get away. Resort and rooms are clean and comfortable. Food and drink are amazing. Staff are like family, caring and sweet. They want nothing more than ensure you are happy. A few of our days there were rough seas and we go to snorkel and relax. We could snorkel so Roger, guest coordinator played pool volleyball with us, bingo, you name it, this sweetheart kept us happy until snorkeling was possible. Snorkeling right off the shore is fantastic too. This was our 8th time there

All great, but wanted more than buffets.

Normally we cruise, but this was an all-inclusive offer through Princess Cruise lines. We had a nice garden view, and view of cruise ships at the nearby port.. Part of this property is time share, but we were never pressured to watch a presentation or buy in. We had a villa room which included a kitchenette, that we didn't use, as meals were included. The beach area was never crowded, and food and drink could be ordered there. We saw loads of fish and some coral as we snorkeled right there. It was a little precarious to get in, but there was a railing and safety rope to help enter the water. Had I realized there was a tennis court there, I would have brought my pickleball gear to practice. (Even though not lined for PB, and net at tennis height.) I just wished they didn't rely on buffets for breakfast and dinner. The lunch menu had a nice variety. The biggest downside for us, was a delayed flight, which caused us to miss the first day of our prepaid vacation. Still, we had a splendid time whilst there. Luckily, Hurricane Rafael mostly left us alone.

One of our favorite RCI resorts. 1st came 41 years ago. Still coming back. Resoet has nice pool, beach area, accessible to crystal clear ocean. Nice studio units for 2 people. Good restaurant on site. Very pleasant staff.

    Awesome!

What makes El CID so inviting is the staff! So friendly and welcoming. Just what you want when you’re on vacation. Roger in entertainment was wonderful. Ari Greets you every morning with a smile on his face. The weight staff was wonderful always anticipating your needs. Thank you, Wendy, and another Wendy, Juan, Alberto, bartenders Erik And Ernesto. These are a few that I remember their name but they all made us feel so welcome. The cruise ships going in and out were a beautiful site. It’s convenient to any shopping you would like to do. The food was absolutely awesome. We had the elite plan and we ordered off the menu if the buffet was not our choice for that evening. The drinks were fantastic while sitting and relaxing in the hot tub. We met so many awesome people. The grounds are immaculate. It is a smaller resort, but that’s what we like. Makes it very inviting. Thank you, El CID For a wonderful vacation. We will be back next year for sure. That will make our fifth time at your resort.

    October Get Away to Cozumel

What a wonderful place to stay in Cozumel. Although the resort is not a large resort, it is just what we needed. From check-in to check-out we were treated like we were family by all the staff at the El Cid La Cieba Hotel. Roger, who is in charge of entertainment, was so pleasant and courteous to us, involving us in all the activities that were taking place all week long for the 2 weeks were were there. Sal and Luis in the concierge department assisted us in anything we needed, including a short trip to Puerto Morelos and ferry connection. Amy in the Club Elite was there to make sure our rooming needs were taken care of throughout the stay, which included a switch in rooms after the first week. Jonathan, our "butler", was always making sure we had everything we needed in our room throughout out stay. There is a port right there where the cruise ships dock and some of the people come into the resort on a day pass, which some who stay at La Cieba do not like, but we found it very interesting to visit with them and especially a group of crew members from the Royal Caribbean line out of Brazil that we found extremely friendly and interesting to visit with. Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable throughout. We can't wait to return to the El Cid La Cieba Hotel in Cozumel. Paradise!!
