Apr 06, 2025Wonderful Resort, Great Location, Exceptional Food!
Our stay at El Cid Marina was exceptional. The location is ideal – away from the noise of the Golden Zone, but easily accessible to the Golden Zone through a complimentary shuttle service. The grounds of the resort are gorgeous and meticulously kept. There is a marina in the resort and nice walkways in front of and behind the buildings. All of the rooms have a marina view and some also have an ocean view. There are two pools and a hot tub and one of the pools is heated. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas around the pools. They have signs on the chairs asking guests not to reserve them. The policy is to remove and store any items left on the chairs for more than an hour and it seemed that guests respected this policy. The heated pool area had activities going on every day such as water aerobics, Bingo, bocce ball, bracelet making, and darts. There is music playing, but it was at a reasonable level. The non-heated pool has a cave-like structure that serves as a platform for jumping into the water as well as paths underneath for exploring. There is a large beach area across the marina and is a short 2-minute water taxi away from the resort. The water taxi is complimentary. The area is beautiful , clean, and there are plenty of chairs and palapas. There are washroom facilities and a dining room by the beach as well as beach service. It is a lovely, quiet area with lots of beach in front of the chairs. Our room was perfect – very large, clean, and comfortable. It had everything we could possibly need, including a safe. The beds were very comfortable, and I noticed they had a pillow menu. It was kept very clean during our stay. The food was fantastic. There is a main dining room inside and a terrace dining room outside. The inside dining room is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and has a buffet as well as a menu. The terrace restaurant (La Teresa) has a breakfast buffet and then has a dinner menu but a reservation is needed for dinner. I found the food at both restaurants to be very good. There is a main bar as well as bars at both pools. There are also snack bars at both pools and the food at those was surprisingly good. We were able to dine at the restaurants at the other El Cid properties and my favourites were the Mexican restaurant and the Italian restaurant. The food at both of those restaurants was exceptional. There are other restaurants at the other resorts (Argentinian, Japanese, etc.) but we didn’t try them. It was easy to make reservations at the various specialty restaurants and we liked that there were so many food choices. The shuttle service is available all day and evening to take you to the various El Cid properties for your dinner reservations. All the employees at the resort were very friendly and welcoming - always smiling and ready with a warm greeting. It was obvious that they take pride in the resort and prioritize the guest experience. The concierge, Armando, was especially helpful at securing our dinner reservations and obtaining anything else we needed. He seemed very genuine in his desire to assist us. I don’t have anything negative to say about this resort. I loved everything about it and I hope to return soon.

El Cid Marina April stay 2025
We came for one week with four friends. We had amazing rooms on a fifth floor overlooking the marina and ocean. We went to both the pools and the beach. We could not have been treated better by the staff and activities people. Making bracelets and dart throwing competitions were a blast. Feasting on guacamole and shrimps for lunch just heaven. Thanks to waiters for helping us concoct skinny margaritas!! We had amazing maid service by Olivia V. She left us the sweetest towel animals and gave us the brightest smiles. Breakfast was a favorite with the variety of fruits and meeting the young hawk lady with Salome and Capitina. The omelette lady was amazing and Jorge Ramon and Luis always had hot coffee and Bailey’s ready for us. All in all it was one of the best holiday stays we have had.Thanks to the bellman Alexis for all the shuffling of bags and advice.

Fantastic Experience
Service of the staff was beyond compare. The resort was very well maintained, with the grounds being emaculate. Every staff member was so helpful and friendly. With the ability to shuttle between El Cid resorts, we were able to enrich our experiences in Mazatlan, taking in food, entertainment, and different vibes all in one trip. This was our first trip to Mazatlán and we fell in love with the city and El Cid - we will be back.

We love the staff at Marina El Cid, Mazatlan
We are just home now from a long vacation at Marina El Cid, Mazatlan. I feel compelled to acknowledge how much the staff contribute to the pleasure of being at this resort. In particular our camarista (housekeeper) took such good care of our room and greeted us every day with a warm smile and a cheerful attitude. All the staff are amazing but I would like to single out Olivia who takes pride in her work and has made our vacation so pleasant. Thank you Olivia - building A 5th floor!

Breakfast- falcon keeps pesky birds away
Had a fantastic experience with the falcon handler! They were very friendly and informative, sharing lots of interesting facts about these amazing birds. The falcon, Captain, does a great job keeping pesky birds away from the eating area, making for a much more enjoyable experience. Highly recommend!”
