    Not a good experience.

Cross this one off your list. The rooms are terrible - - not much hot water, mold, linens are really old. While they do have a nice beach & pool area, it's problematic finding chairs - - lots of guests come out at night to claim their seating areas. The food is not good, drinks are awful.

Resort needs a total overhaul! Kitchen needs a new recipe book! The staff is excellent with the exception of the ft desk

This was our second trip to this resort. Last trip was in 2020 as Covid was kicking off. This trip we were met by an extremely rude employee at the check-in desk. This employee should be pleasant as she was the first person you encounter. Nope! Very rude! We were traveling with another couple and we specifically asked to have rooms close to each other. They put us on the fourth floor and put them on the third floor. 🤷‍♂️ Once we got our room, I was totally disgusted. Two beds instead of one king. All the furniture look like some kids used it as a jungle gym. It was all broken up. The two chairs on our patio were missing straps. It was worn out. And the air conditioning didn’t work, that was the dealbreaker. We went down to guest services and Omar and Antonio wanted to see the room and what I was complaining about. They concurred and moved us to the first floor. Which we decided to accept because of the proximity to the pool and beach. As you can see in the photos, the place needs a major overhaul. The lamps were converted to LEDs and were falling apart on the nightstands. If you could find an outlet, that would hold your phone charger. You should play the lottery because they were not to be had. The outlets were totally worn out the plugs would not stay in. They serve the same food every day every meal. All the steamer trays are beat up and bent. Nothing is marked so you have to lift every lid to see what’s under it. After the third day, you’re pretty sick of the same old food. The wait staff were excellent though! Although you could never get the same drink twice. I’ve never seen so much inconsistency in drinks. One time it has way too much sweet mix in it, the next time it’s weak. The place was acceptable in 2020 as it had very few people there and we must’ve been in a nicer room that wasn’t worn out yet. We brought our own snorkeling gear, and you could walk the beach up to the Westin and get in there and snorkel back. That was one of the major draws to this place. This place was an OK bang for the buck. If you don’t mind living in squalor. Aren’t fussy about what you eat. And don’t mind tipping to keep the wait staff coming back. The rumors were the daughter inherited this and isn’t sticking a nickel into it. And you can tell there’s no money being put in to it. I would be surprised to see if this place is open in another year. Needless to say, we will not be back to this resort.

Wonderful time once we got rooms straightened out... STAFF IS OUTSTANDING BEST EVER!!!

There are to buildings at this resort... one tall (tower) one that has awesome rooms, the other shorter but longer resort has outdated, moldy windows, limited power outlets etc. When we checked in my husband and I were given a room in the "tower" and it was awesome.... great view, nice room, plenty of outlets, etc.... Unfortunately we never told the resort we were traveling with two other couples, who got the shorter building and hated their rooms. I went to the front desk and asked if they could move rooms (Omar).... they only had one the next day, so one couple got moved to the tower. Later the next day I spoke with Julia who was great help and we figured out a solution. There were no other available rooms until later in the week, so we decided for my husband and I to upgrade to a higher floor... meant more money, which I was ok with. So then our other friends were able to move into our room! Whew The only negative about the "tower" is the elevators..... pretty scary... when it worked, then it didn't etc... WE LOVED THE LOCATION. WE LOVED THE ROOMS. WE REALLY LOVED THE STAFF!!! I've traveled to Mexico over 30 times in the last 10 years... and I've never been treated so wonderfully! Everyone from housekeeping, landscaping, waiters, bartenders, front desk, trip desk.... all were super and very friendly and helpful. I want to personally point out the front desk.... moving around my friends felt like an algebra problem, but we got thru it. Thank you to Omar, Julia, Martha, Samatha, Fatima, Leonardo... and our awesome waiter VICTOR! YOU ROCK DUDE! Bartenders were great and very friendly. We'd go back if we could get the tower rooms for sure! Wonderful food, never had complaints.... order the chicken/beef quesadilla... or nachos... and french fries... and you also have to ask for Bacon :) these are not on any menu...you have to ask.

    Love it or hate it

My wife and I were there about a month ago. This was our third time back and we were staying for two weeks. I find in general that you either love the place or hate it. My wife and I love the place. I must say that some of the complaints are legitimate but I always try and look at the positive side of things. Number one thing is the staff. You arrive and you’re greeted by a gentleman by the name of Federico. Not only does he take care of your luggage but he’s a wealth of information willing to assist you in any way he can. Then there is my two favourite ladies at the reception desk, Martha and Fatima, very helpful, very pleasant, very professional. Everyone else was also great but these two stood out. Happy happy all the time. The young gentle in the lobby, Carlos is a real gem. He treated me like V.I.P. After the morning booking for the a la carte he would be down at the beach and would have great conversation. The a la carte restaurant was a great experiences. Great food ,great staff. James runs a tight ship. He keeps up with young guys and is always pleasant. Some of the amazing team were Santiago, Oscar, Paulino, Manuel, Victor, Freddy, Carlos, Jose. But the number on guy that was always right on top of everything was Manuel Root, he would go above and beyond to please my wife and I. Thanks again Manuel. Even some of the manages went out of their way to insure we were having a good time like Javier Arturo Julista. Lots of other people at the buffet and bars that were amazing but I’m running out of space. The other amazing positive thing that keeps me going back is the snorkeling. Simply beautiful, right out front. So there are definitely some issues with the resort but like I said, I’ve been there three times and can’t wait to go back One last thing, the West Jet guy Pedro, nice gentleman, very helpful. Stay open minded, don’t go looking for all the negative thing , just enjoy all the positive things about the resort and you’ll enjoy your vacation

Not the best, everything closes at 10pm

The hotel is decent, but pretty outdated. The buffet was the same food every day, and not very good, very small selection. The bar was okay, most of the bartenders were nice and brought us drinks by the pool, some of them however ignored us (even after tipping). The bars all close by 10pm and there is no snack bar or anything, everything shuts down at 10pm and there is no night life or entertainment. I do not recommend this resort if you’re young and want to stay up late and party. The resort is very small. The beach is small on the resort but beautiful and the snorkeling is fantastic. I would suggest to bring cards or games to keep yourself entertained if you choose this resort. All in all, pretty good vacation if you go off-resort.
