  The Perfect Resort

  This is my first time leaving the US, and my first time at an all inclusive resort and I fear it may have ruined me for anywhere else. The resort is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is wonderful and extremely friendly. We felt welcome from the second we arrived. They offer several activities throughout each day, which are hosted by Marco, Osvaldo, Alex, Jerik, Cris, and Kevin. Each of them were so great and made every moment fun. You can tell that they really enjoy what they’re doing, and that energy is infectious. There’s morning runs, learning and craft activities, volleyball twice a day. You can do as much or as little as you want and it’s still the perfect time. Every food served here is made fresh with all natural ingredients. We’ve eaten at each restaurant plus the taqueria and have not yet had something we didn’t like. I could not have asked for a better experience.

  Don’t think, BOOK your stay at maroma now!

  There is nothing I can compare el dorado maroma with. It is a GEM among all of the resorts in playa. The staff are outstanding and friendly and will make your stay so memorable! Salome and Diego at bar 24 are the best bartenders and we will miss them and the Paloma’s and watermelon mojitos. Marco, Alex, jerik, Osvaldo, cris, and Kevin were the best activity directors! Beach volleyball everyday was a highlight of my stay, along with the kayak tour!! You will see it written all over this page and others, but it’s worth saying again that the staff at Maroma MAKE the experience. We will be back!

  A hidden gem in Mexico

  Beautiful property and the spa is incredible! My husband and I got a couples Sky Massage on the beach from Herbert and Lilliana; ! Incredible! Relaxing!!! Very professional and kind people. A wonderful experience. A Spa that was modern and spacious and clean.

  The El Dorado Maroma has a tremendous amount of potential - but misses the mark.

  The El Dorado Maroma has a tremendous amount of potential - but misses the mark. This resort simply does not have enough resources for the amount of people it accomodates. The food was good as long as you were there within the times that food was available. They do not offer a buffet, grill, or snack bar. Even breakfast is a long drawn out affair. On that same note, we were told that dinner reservations were required, however, the options that were available were 5:30 or 8:30. We later found out that if you show up and they have a table available, you will be seated within a few minutes. The more inclusive didn't work out very well as most of the availability was for dates after our check out. We were there Monday through Friday. They had availability open up on Friday for the excursions we were interested in. Of course, they had plenty of availability for the paid excursions. We were finally able to do a snorkeling tour, but our friends were not able to join us due to availability. If you want a Bali bed or a beach chair, get up before 6 AM to get one. It is a real game at this resort. This was one of the most annoying aspects of the trip. Night life is nonexistent. The Good: Maroma beach is beautiful. You can walk in either direction for miles and miles. The water is warm and clear. The people who work at the resort are amazing!!! They work incredibly hard to make your vacation wonderful. If you book this resort, just understand what it is and isn't. We had a fun trip with our friends but will go somewhere else the next time.

  Excelente!

  This was our third 7-day stay at the always wonderful El Dorado Maroma. Knowing the resort, you come to expect consistent quality in all aspects, and it exceeded expectations. We stayed in a spacious swim up suite, well catered to by our butlers, Alex and Enrique, who helped us plan meals, massages, activities, and beachside and members dinners. The beach is one of the finest anywhere, with an ample number of loungers and Bali beds and excellent butler service. We enjoyed aqua-fitness with fun and energetic Oswaldo, some of the best massages ever from Liliana and Angeles, and an informative and entertaining tequila pairing with Augustin. Evening poolside musical entertainment was well performed and incorporated classic rock, country and reggae, and got the audience onto the floor. As always, the beachside Mexican fiesta was a highlight. We did leave campus once for a superb full-day exploration of three underground cenotes booked by Lomas and conducted by Ocean Tours. Resort dining was first-class in quality, ambience and service. Our only slight disappointment was with the Molcajete dinner at Pepito’s, which we found uncharacteristically limited in choices. We would much prefer a full-featured gourmet Mexican menu incorporating specialties from across the country. On the other hand, we appreciated the addition of the Taqueria, which served up tasty tacos and guacamole throughout the day. Needless to say, we very much look forward to our next visit to this sensational resort.
